I saw this guy at Barnes and Noble and he was great! He does not do puppets, but my daughter, who was 2 at the time, was mesmerized http://www.inthenickoftimemusic.com/ His prices were pretty reasonable too.
Hi,
I want to get some entertainment for my daughters first bday party - don't want to go to crazy but do what to have something - Don't really want to do circle time because its too involved for a party, I want people to be relaxed, so I was thinking of havin g a puppet show or music (most kids will be 1-2 but even if they dont follow the story of the puppet show, they'll like watching the puppets) anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

At this age, the kids don't care about what's going on. The parties are really for the adults to celebrate the milestone and spend some time together. Enjoy yourself - the kiddos will be happy with whatever toys are around :)
hello, a nice idea is to have a princess visit, its good for the 1 year old and the other kids too, take pictures and play some games depending on the other kids age. Check out Butterfly Dreams theme parties for kids, they come to you and bring every thing that is needed. Look at there website
www.ButterflyDreamsParty.com or call ###-###-#### and they will do your ideas too. They are great with the kids and the kids love them too.
good luck
I just had a picnic at the park. Actually I had done tree top park where the big playground is. Went well for everyone. Look into the state parks. And guess what the clean up is easier because its not a mess in your house.
I wouldn't do balloons at a 1st birthday. Choking hazards, right?
Trying to plan entertainment for babies is a losing battle. The kids don't care and would rather play on their own. Kids this little don't even really "play" together, much less have the attention span to watch a show of some sort.
Why not just have a nice dinner and some cake?
at one they don't grasp the idea of "birthday party". the more excitement that is going on the more she will get overwhelmed, tired, cranky, and miserable. my vote is for a small family party in her own home. she'll enjoy that more.
I'm thinking of hiring a balloon artist for my son's first birthday. He loves balloons and so does his sister and all the other little children we know! I'm a bit behind in my planning, but I doubt they are too pricey. A puppet show might be a bit of a stretch of 1-2 year olds, but maybe some sort of singer or dancing would be fun!
