Kayla, my daughter who just turned 5 will be starting school next year. However the problem is, I don't know what school she will be or should be going to or how to go about enrolling her in school. She has never been to any type of school or daycare before. So if you have any information or ideas that would help me, please do. I really appreciate any advice or information that I can get.
Thanx, M.

I would contact your school district. Like if you are in Parkway, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, etc.... whatever the district is I would call the main office and ask them about what school she will be attending and whatever questions you might have. Good luck!

I live in Imperial and in the Seckman school district. My son is 3 1/2 and goes to Goddard part time and he lvoes it. My Nephew goes to Hodge elementary on I believe Spring Hill off Miller Road. It is a wonderful school! The kids get computer time once their work is done, and it is very structured. It is also a brand new school which gives more peace of mind! One of the kindergarten teachers is my neighbor and she is so sweet! They get very attached to the kids and cry when they move up a grade. My son will go there when it is time. If you are unsure what type of school you want her to attend the best is to just shop around. And definitely ask a lot of questions!

To find out what school your child is in you can call the state education office or many times real estate agents or neighbors can tell you what school district you are in and you can call them. If you are looking into private schools you can call the local churches in your area and ask if they have schools. You can also do an online search typing in school along with your city and state abbreviation. You can also go to greatschools.net (might be .com) and look there. I had a hard time choosing schools too. If your child were mine I would try getting her into SOMETHING between now and next year so that she is used to being away from you. How about a preschool? That is a nice thing to help them ease into it. If she were mine I would also consider 1/2 day kindergarten unless you think she can and wants to do more. I would be happy to help you with this more if you need it, it is a BIG and IMPORTANT decision. treefroggy8 at yahoo dot com is my email. Best of luck!

Call your city hall to find out what school your child should go to, if she's five now, she'll start Kindergarten next year. I live in the city of St. Louis and I looked in the phone book for the number to call in the government pages. I sent my daughter to private school, but if you want to do that you better start looking soon, because a lot of scools need you to have the lengthy application process completed by the beginning of January. Google it if all else fails. Most schools have the application process online. Public schools however haven't entered the computer age yet, at least not in the city.

Hi Meisha! You need to find out what school disctrict you are in and go to/call the district office to find out what elementary school your daughter will be enrolled in. Then you will have to go to that school with her birth certificate and a utility bill (I think that's all you need-you may want to ask and make sure) and tell the secretary in the office that you would like to enroll your child for the next school year :o) You can find your district office's number in the phone book. From what I understand, it's a pretty easy process. Good luck!
PS-I'm pretty sure she will have to tourn 6 by August 1 of next year-but they'll ask you all that when you call.
