I had the ablation done a couple of years ago. I love it! I have several friends who have had this done and love it also but I do know of one lady who had no success. I think a lot of the success has to do with the way a uterus is made on the inside. This is a good option if you plan on having no more kids but just taking addition progesterone should cut down on the heavy bleeding.

This was an option my OB gave me about 10 yrs ago.

One thing he said is that it does not always "take" and sometimes maybe a year or two later, it might have to be re-done.

At the time, I was sick and tired of procedures so I asked him about other options and he said hysterectomy. That sounded great to me because iI wanted to be done with issues. I had a complete hysterectomy, bikini incision, ovaries and everything taken. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. I've never felt better or looked better. Check out the website www.hystersisters.com and you may also get some info on ablation there.

My SIL, opted for the ablation about 10 yrs ago and she's had no issues with it and is very happy with her choice.

Good luck.

P.: I had this done and it was the best thing that I have ever done. I have not had a period for almost 3 years. It was very easy to have done. I did try a couple of other therapies, but this was the best. Having said that, my sister had it done in MN, it did not work for her. Not sure why, but this has really saved me a lot of worry. FYI, I had this done at age 47, so I was really done having kids.

Best of luck to you!

I had mine in Dec and it has been life changing. I was just telling someone about it yesterday. It sounds scary, but I had had no pain and was only "laying around " for 24 hours. It has improved every aspect of my life. I hope you go ahead with it!

Yes ! I have had the procedure done by my trusted gyno 2 years ago. It was the best thing i have ever done! I still had slight periods for about 4 months and then down to nothing after awhile. I truely beleive I would have ended up with a hysterectomy like my mother and 2 sisters had I not had the procedure done. I feel much better now and can function normally without all that sickness and disruption in my life. P.

Hi - I had one done in Feb. I would get it done again in a heart beat! I had mine done in the doctor office and did not feel a thing. The recovery time was really quick and mostly getting the pain killers and anesthesia our of my system. I had it done on a Wed and I was back at work on Friday.
The one thing that I keep forgetting is... you still have your hormones even though you don't have a period. If you get a little cranky or moody from PMS... it won't go away!
I have been super happy and I wish I did it earlier!
Good luck!

P. - I had the ablation done almost a year and a half ago. I would totally recommend it. My periods used to be very heavy, but now they're usually light enough to be managed with panty liners alone. The procedure itself was pretty easy, and the pain after was minimal. For me, it was totally worth it. Good luck!

I had this done in December of 1999, so maybe the technology has improved. My doctor told me I was the one in the million it did not work on and so I eventually had to have a hysterectomy. If you do not plan to have any more children, this may be your best option, but do your own research because I have heard there are some new options available.

HEY I am excited for you. I had this done about 3 1/2 yrs ago and I was mad that I did't get it done sooner. I was having ALOT of problems prior and going to DR to DR and NO ONE was helping I was HM therapy for 2 yrs and still no help. I had my "FRIEND" for 38 day straight. One doc put me depression pills and boy did I get mad. And told "HIM" well you bleed for 38 days and don't die and gain 60 lbs. see if you aren't ****** off.!! I found a specialist and with in 20 mins of talkin to him, he new what could be happening. After all tests were completed I had done were in. I had this done. And it was the best thing I have could of done for myself. After the proceedure I was tired and moderate cramping. Next 2 day I felt great! And NO cycle. I don't have to be on any HM supplements, I don't have a cycle anymore and I LOVE IT. Plus I lost about 55 lbs within the year. Now I look like my old self again.
Good Luck
