Encouragement for in Vitro

My cousin went through one failed In Vitro procedure. Her insurance has changed with the company paying 90% for a 2nd attempt. We are all thrilled they get another chance at having a baby.

Anyway, do you know of any books of encouragement I could get her to help keep her calm during this time of hope?

What can I do next?

I would also recommend the book by Dr. do mar. I was given this book by the practice that I went to when I went thru IVF. Linda Huston at Dr. gold stein's practice at Fertity Specialsit of Texas was very helpful with us as was Dr. Goldstein. You need the support to get thru this.

Good luck

If you are a believer, I recomment Water From the Rock. I read through it with a group of girls when we were all experiencing our own battles with infertility. Two of us adopted, one will for sure never conceive on her own, one just had her SECOND child without intervention, and I wound up havging twins through IUI.

Books are good, however you may want to try a Mind Body Program. I did not end up going, but did by the book by Alice Domar, Ph.D. I got it from my doctors office who has a whole program on this. You may want to speak to Linda, Dr. Goldstein's nurse in Frisco about this. She was very, very helpful and really got me thru everything.

My friend found lots of comfort in the different infertility blogs and chat rooms, etc. Maybe you could encourage her to find some of those. There are lots of women who share stories and it's nice to hear from someone going through it with her! Good luck!

Good Lord I should think that the insurance coverage would be motivation enough. We had to pony up what amounted to $13,000 cash for just one chance at IVF, and we're thankful every day that it worked. If our insurance covered 90% of #2, we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Our insurance company covers 0% each time. Be thankful for that! We had no results with accupuncture.

I'm not sure about books, but I would suggest her doing acupuncture during her IVF. I'm not one who typically "buys in" to that line of thinking, but I got pregnant 2x out of 5 attempts and the 2 success were when I had it done.

Best wishes and prayers to them.

I also highly recommend Julia Indichova's books. She has 2 and really offers wonderful support through her website. Blessings to your cousin if she has not already conceived.

All three of my kids were from IVF. I know it can be a challenge! I found a lot of encouragement from the various websites and blogs that are out there. It's been a while since I was on them but she can google and find a bunch. They are current, and they are great. GOOD LUCK TO HER!
