Edible Lotion

Happy New Year moms! Do any of you know of any hand lotions that are natural and edible? This season has been particularly dry on my hands. I keep lathering throughout the day but I have to wash it off before I prepare meals for my DS. I feel like I'm wasting lotion, but I don't want him ingesting it with his food.

What can I do next?

Hi J.,
I love Enfuselle Hand and Body Lotion. Without it my hands crack open around the nails in the winter. I only have to apply it once a day. You may have to use it more often in the beginning. But it is absorbed and doesn't sit on the skin. You can find it at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife. They also have organic baby products.

Shouldn't you wash your hands before preparing food anyway?

Lansinoh pure lanolin. It is in the baby care section for cracked nipples but can also be used for chapstick or lotion or other dry skin needs (lactation nurse told me about it). Can be used for nursing mothers so it is safe for what you are wanting as well. I am done nursing but still use it b/c it work's so great.

Try to rub your hands with olive oil. Kneating a dough for pasta (egg+flour) is also a good remedy for dry skin.
Good luck!

You can use coconut oil. It's edible and a also a great moisturizer and it smells nice.

Sweet almond oil is another good choice.
