My son gets eczema in the winter and I have found that a good think based massage cream called Therapro works for him. Also give her an oatmeal bath. Also you can try (I know it sounds a little wierd) hemp based lotions are very good for dry skin.

My daughter has eczema also. We have been washing her with shea and cocoa butter wash and letting her play for 10 minutes or longer in the bath. We also use a prescription ointment from the doctor called Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1%, it seems to help keep the break outs at bay. She still gets them but they aren't near as bad as they used to be.

I haven't read through either, so this may have already been mentioned. I have read that if you put a little vinegar in the bathtub it heals eczema. I'm not certain if it works as I haven't tried it, but I just read about it the other day. You may even be able to google it and see if anything comes up to tell you more about it. Good luck.

How about a way to get rid of the eczema forever?? Tried and true and won't just treat the symptoms is 1 teaspoon of cod liver oil per day, 2-tablespoons of evening primrose oil per day and a good probiotic (good bacteria to clean up her gut where the majority of her immune system lies). I don't have a particular evening primrose that I suggest, but you can ask those either at The Vitamin Shoppe or Whole Foods which they recommend, but Carlson's or Nordic Naturals are best for the cod liver oil and my son's personal favorite for the probiotic is the Yum-Yum dopholis by Jarrow(found in the refrigerated section in the supplements isles of Whole Foods). This should go along with at least 1 hour of sun exposure per day as well (without sunscreen). Go out before 11am or after 3pm to avoid the most potent rays. Go outside and play with her for an hour, she'll even sleep better at night!! Also, go to www.generationrescue.com for an alternative vaccine schedule. Skin disorders, especially eczema, are a symptom of a toxic overload in the body. The only way the body is able to rid itself of the overload is through the skin which is the largest detoxifying organ in the body. Think back if her condition got worse with each booster or showed up a few weeks after. Also, cleaning up her diet is key. Scrap ALL dairy, cow's milk when pasteurized and homogenized destroys the lining of the large intestine where 70% of the immune system lies. Substitute with rice or almond milk and plenty of water. Fruit juices should be avoided unless they are watered down (1/4 cup of juice to 3/4 water). Sugar decreases immune function. Wheat should also be avoided until all signs of the eczema are gone and reintroduced slowly. You can substitute with rice products, buckwheat products or even gluten free products. Van's makes a wonderful frozen waffle, she'll never know! Also, pasta is also great made with rice. Looks and tastes exactly the same. Should you choose to keep vaccinating after researching, the dairy should never be reintroduced and I also recommend never returning to wheat as well. I know it seems daunting right now, but when you get the hang of it, it will be easy! I also recommend this way of eating for you too! Good luck! Melaleuca has a product that people swear by! It is the Renew Lotion. My brother-in-law has sciroisis and he loves the stuff. My daughter (almost two) and I both have eczema. I have found that burbur and parsley both work well. I even did an experiment and took my daughter off of the burbur. Almost a week and a half later her eczema came back. I give 4 drops in her juice/water about 4 times a day.

They say that skin issues are a sign that the liver needs some support. Burbur and parsley both do this. And a side note....I've been giving burbur to my son as well and his asthma has completely disappeared (used to cough ALL THE TIME from September to May).

I would ck diet. I know milk really can aggravate eczema. My son had it really bad and we took milk away, only from drinking, not in foods too and it disappeared. Also maybe caused by pet allergies, do you have pets? K.

My husband (of almost 19 years!) has suffered since childhood with eczema. His mother gave me a home remedy that is pretty simple: 1/3 mineral oil (or baby oil)
1/3 witch hazel
1/3 rubbing alcohol
He keeps this in the shower and puts it on while he is still wet. Sometimes it burns for a quick second from the alcohol, but after that he says that it feels much better. I have even used this on my 5 month old son and it has helped! Hope this helps you also!

The only thing that I have found that works long term is Renew lotion and bath oil. I also feel that using the Melapower laundry soap and using natural cleaners and bath and body lines is the reason why my son and I stay under control. I have a two year old that has had eczema since he was about 6 mos old and I have had eczema for several years now. I agree with those who say it is a food intolerance. Alletess has a test, IgE for food allergies, and IgG for food allergies. They are both blood tests to show what is causing your daughter inflammation. N.

robathol bath oil-use it on wet skin before drying off. you can use it in the bath too! get it at cvs in the pharmacy, but its non prescription. you can also try vanicream. if you're able to get a prescription, kerafoam emollient foam is great too.

I know many moms who swear by Arbonne for this. There are several moms on this board who sell it.

My daughter suffered from eczema from birth. We would use a perscription cream that would taked care of it within a day or so, but a week later it would come back. At 4 months, her dr. recommended bathing her with a goat's milk cleanser. We started doing that and haven't had a recurrence of eczema since (she is now 6.5 months). Hope this helps!

Has it been thought that it could be a vitimin difficiency? For years I thought I had psoriosis (sp), but my kids Dr. sait it was a lack of Cod Fish oil or DHA. My son started having the same as me and she recommended a DHA supplement. Yes it is the oil but it has an orange flavoring to it so it does not taste bad. She said you can get it at a healthfood store, but most Dr. offices should sell it.

Go to a website called Freederm.com. I have had dermatitis for over 40 years and when I had a child and started noticing the same thing I started doing my research. I have two children(16/9) who from infancy suffered from eczema...I also have a niece and nephew with the same...What has worked with us is that they take baths every other day...Their skin is not fully dried off after bath and eucerin cream is applied each and every time. On days of no baths, they wash up with Dove sensitive skin soap and lotion is applied. For my daughter, a little Keri oil is added to her bath water....

On hot sunny days, they drink plenty of water and do not stay in the sun as that irritates the skin. We also do not wash their clothes with detergent that has dyes or scents...

An allergies is your best bet. My nephew was 2 when he was diagnosed with sever allergies that were causing his eczema. He has been on meds 2 years now and we stay away from the foods he is allergic too and free from the pains of eczema.

my 7 yaer old daughter has had it for 5 years now ...go buy an aloe vera plant...or go to a healt store and buy pure aloe vera gel and put thet on a few times a day...it not only soothes but moisturizes as well and it is natural... so it wont hurt your baby...it is cheaper than keeping on trying all of these other products:)

Fascinating. I've read many of the responses to your post, and none of them speak to the underlying root cause of your daughter's problem. Creams, creams and more creams. This won't ever "heal" it. I don't have any magic cream advice for you. My advice speaks to healing.

If the skin is erupting on the outside, it is a sign that something is wrong on the inside. Don't curse the skin rash. Your daughter's body is talking to her and to you saying "Help!" That's why the creams and the drugs don't work. They are designed to silence the cry for "Help!" comiing from your daughter's body. They are not designed to heal the body from the inside out. Don't listen to the cream salespeople (even if they have an MD after their name). Rather, listen to her body's cries for help.

It is well established in the holistic health community that eczema is caused largely by autoimmune disease process resulting from food intolerances. Test your daughter for gluten and casein through www.enterolab.com. This lab is in Plano. Order test kit online, send in stool specimen, they email you the results. Doctor who opened the lab was former director of GI research at Baylor. He started to realize that conventional medicine overlooks most food intolerance issues and autoimmune disease because they are testing the wrong way - they do blood and skin scratch tests, which are ineffective. He developed a stool test. Highly recommended for accuracy, and what could be easier and less invasive for a tender little 2 year old!!! No needle sticks or scratching. She poops every day anyway!

Once you eliminate the offending foods, her body will smile back at you with glowing healthy skin!!! For the rest of her life, if she chooses to eat properly, she won't need to spend money on crazy creams and silly doctors who aren't educated about nutrition. I think Dr. Fine would advise that if the Enterolab test results are positive, gluten and casein need to be permanent eliminations, regardless of the vaccination schedule. My family has what might be called hereditary eczema. I suffered from it for years as a child without knowing what the real problem was; when in junior high the bottoms of my feet would crack, peel, and burn like no other. Finally, one day a few years ago, I developed the same sort of cracking on my right ring finger... it looked like I had suffered some sort of burn. The dermatologist took one look at my finger and told me I had eczema. He proceeded to tell me that as a skin condition, it is totally unaffected by lotions and the amount of water we intake. He then wrote me a prescription for a topically applied skin cream. His recommended method of application was first to thoroughly cover the affected area with the skin cream and then to cover it with a second layer of vaseline. The final step was to cover the area with either a glove or a sock (my worst areas were my hands and feet) to make sure the medication was absorbed and not wiped off. As I am a musician, wearing gloves during the day wasn't feasible, so I performed this process every night before I went to bed, until the areas healed.

Now, I am not a doctor, but there are a few other suggestions I have. First, consider if your child has asthma. My dermatologist told me that he has seen many, many cases of eczema in patients who also had asthma themselves, or a family history involving asthma. I myself had asthma for a long time and didn't really grow out of it until my high school years. Secondly, consider that some of the excessive itching might be exaggerated or caused by stressing over the appearance of symptoms or the possibility that they could crop up at any minute. This, too, was something I experienced; both my pcp and dermatologist simply said to take benadryl to relieve the itching. Lastly, consider how much contact your daughter has with water. Does she take a bath every day? Wash her hands frequently? Cleanliness is good, but I also exacerbated my symptoms by frequent hand washing (of course, because one has to have clean hands to play an instrument). Whatever the case, once affected areas have healed, make a point of applying lotion immediately after a bath and/or handwashing. I do not know where your daughter experiences the most symptoms, but I strive to keep my skin hydrated to try to prevent breakouts, especially as I live in an incredibly dry place (winter is the worst!).

Other products I would recommend are Aveeno - they have a *wonderful* oatmeal bath that I used both as a child (for chicken pox) and also to relieve eczema symptoms. I would also suggest Neutrogena lotions, as they are generally unscented and thus much better for affected skin. There is a small bottle of lotion with sesame oil in it that I love; slightly more expensive, but worth the purchase (I feel). Finally, to cap off my list, consider olive and almond oils. Both are great for the skin and are simple remedies that have been used for thousands of years. You might have to purchase almond oil online, but I would say that is dependent in the size of the city you live in and the variety of stores available to you. If there are local Indian or Chinese markets, check there, as they tend to have a much bigger selection of oils in their merchandise. I have used these as well and they improve skin amazingly. A last consideration might be aloe vera. For this, you can even purchase a plant and slit a leaf for immediate use.

I hope these suggestions help. I understand how frustrating it is to be the child suffering from the symptoms and also the parent watching and feeling at your wits' ends. My five year old son has pretty sensitive skin, so I am watch him carefully for breakouts, as I am positive his family history makes him prone to the condition. You should have your daughter's thyroid function checked, thyroid problems cause dry, itchy skin. Additionally, as in my case, food allergies caused eczema patches all over my body. A thorough food allergy blood test is required to get the specific details so you can know what you are dealing with. As soon as I cut the foods from my diet that caused the allergy, the eczema went away. Good luck. (^_~)

Hello Jen, have you taken your child to an allergist, many times eczema is worst due to allergy. Good luck, let me know if she gets better.

My 4 1/2 year old has eczema and we use Aveeno soap, and lotion. This has really reduced his reactions. We also us Aquaphor on his bad spots when he does get them. It is a really thick, clear cream that comes in a jar. It is made by Eucerin. I really like it and it works great for him. I have used it on my own skin and when my oldest has really chapped lips, he will use it as well. You can tell a difference overnight on their skin or lips when they use it. I highly recommend it.

I have a grandson that suffers from this also and I found to use Avon skin so soft the one that is in a spray bottle he is now 7 and can place it on alone he says its the best thing that has felt good.It also it good for keeping the bugs away.If you dont have someone just go into avon's web.They now have were you can make orders and have shipped direct to you.Good luck with this because this can be for life and some people when they go through puberty it changes.

My 1yr old son has bad eczima too. We have also tried the many prescriptions, and even home remedies to try to help his rash.

The things we now use that have finally provided some relief are
1) Benadryl anti-ich cream; keep it in the diaper bag and apply to the itching area at any time anywhere. The Anti-histamine in benadryl blocks the itch---get the Benadryl not the generic or store brand---
2)Do not give a bath each day, try every other day or every three, costant washing removes the natural oils from the skin.
3) Oatmeal- if it works for poisonoak/ivy/sumac it will work for eczima- a package of instant oatmeal in a warm bath does wonders for the skin and decreases the itching.
4)Give them yogurt and rub it into a bad rash spot like a lotion-yes yogurt-it contains living enzimes (good germs) that will help heal that rash.

MOST IMPORTANT- CHECK THOSE LOTION AND CREAM BOTTLES! MOST CONTAIN ALCOHOL-THAT WONDERFUL THING FOR DRYING OUT YOUR SKIN!
Even the ones that say they are for eczima can contain alcohol. Only use the ones that are alcohol free-Vaseline for example, also use a body wash or body cream not a hand cream because the lanoline in hand cream will make an open eczima rash burn.

Start watching what she eats.

Raisins were a staple in our diet and then we started having horrible out breaks.

We even had to pull back on the Cheerios because I notices she'd get outbreaks if she was getting too much of that too.

Eczema is an allergy- the kiddos just don't sneeze. Benedryl cream/gel works for immediate relief. There may be some topical products at the health food store that have natural calmatives.

Coconut oil. My sister uses that on her daughter. I think you can pick it up at whole foods. It's natural and really helped my niece.

Both of my daughter's sons have this problem. One of them was so bad that his skin constantly cracked. She used vaseline.

With my daughter the doctor recomended short luke warm baths and i would add baby oil which really helped her skin.Note they will come out very slippery!! They also recomended a lotion called Cetaphil and it has helped. He even added a prescription to that brand of cream for her severe spots. If yours is like mine they will grow out of it or at least it will not be as severe. Hope this helps!

I am sure you will get this same advice from a lot of Moms but I say Renew lotion from Meleluca is the ONLY thing to help my sons eczema. Its wonderful.

Hi my hubby has eczema and nothing helped at all until someone told him about Head and Shoulders shampoo. He puts it on his effected area, lets it almost dry, then bathes it off. Last year his was so bad it looked like 3rd degree burns. This year when it started he used the Head and Shoulders and it cleared right up. My 9 mo old nephew also has it and I told my niece about it. She used it on him and it cleared up after a few applications and hasn't returned. good luck.

I use Aveeno liquid wash for my baby and no scent lotion. Don't waste all that money on Dreft. Use All free and clear-same thing. Eucerin Aquaphor lotion is great for very dry skin, but doctor said not to use if eczema was red or raised because it is probably infected and needs perscription medicine. Also, Aveeno oatmeal bath is soothing for all types of skin conditions including eczema and diaper rashes. Hope something I wrote helps. I'd, also, talk to her doctor again.

Try vanicream. It is pure and very thick cream. Good stuff.

My DS had pretty severe eczema as an infant what worked best for him were the Mustela Stelatopia produts. They carry these at Babies R US and drugstor.com. Also, we only use All Free and Clear detergent. Dreft actually has a fragrance in it that can sometimes irritate the skin. If someone held him that wore any kind of fragrance or used any non fragrance free detergent, he would have outbreaks so we had to get the grandparents to switch detergent as well. He was diagnosed with a milk allergy. Once we both stopped consuming any dairy (I was nursing), his eczema almost disappeared.

My two kids and I all suffer from eczema in various forms. I itch constantly, but am also allergic to certain form of Vitamin E (Tocopherol Acetate), which seems to be my problem. I have switched to an all natural soap from Lush called Olive Branch. Its is made from all natural ingredients and oils and has completely stopped my itching. My boys also use Lush products, however they use a more masculine sent of chocolate. Its not cheap - about 25 dollars for a 16 oz. bottle (they do have smaller sizes and will give you a sample of anything on request to try first). It has worked wonders!

Although this didn't work for me, many people do oatmeal baths or use Aveno. I wish you the best of luck. I understand your frustration and if you need I have a great pediatric immunologist that we have used for allergies that I think is one of the best in the Metroplex.

We bought something called FreeDerm online. After it arrived I took it to my doc before using it on my dauhgter to make sure it was ok and he said yes. It worked great for her. She is three now and most of her problems have cleared, except for flare ups now and then. I use baby soap and never bubble bath. I also give her oatmeal baths which she loves. We let her "air dry" after baths as the rubbing of the towel against the skin can be very irritating. I pat down her hair and let her run around naked fore a few minutes. I just use regular detergent, but her flareup areas are not where clothes touch usually. her legs and tops of feet are problem areas still.

Emu Oil and Grandpa's brand pine tar soap work WONDERS on exczema!!!

Olive Oil! My grandmother swears by it and it does help the extemely dry patches and it is natural.

My daughter also has very severe eczema. She too has been given many prescriptions that make it go away, but then it always comes back. The only thing they tell me is to try to prevent it by keeping her skin hydrated. You want to use things that don't contain any perfumes. My ex mother-in-law has tried olive oil and it actually seemed to hydrate her skin more than anything. Now, I am not sure how much the doctors would recommend it, but its worth a try for you.

My son had a bad case of eczema from about 5 months old. We tried everything--both RX and over the counter--with no luck until a pediatric allergist in Frisco recommended Protopic. It's an expensive prescription but it was like flipping a switch. No more rash! His age may also have contributed to the clear-up (he's 2-and-a-half now) but whenever he has a flare-up (like behind his knees or around his ears) the Protopic ointment helps a lot.

I was born with eczema, and still have it at 32 years of age. I have it so bad that when I was younger and I would scratch, it would bleed! These are the products that I use:

Dove soap - Curel lotion - Gain washing powder - and I have used all the prescriptions my whole life - and this is what I know - your body becomes immune to the creams after a short use - sometimes I won't even get through one tube of prescription tube and my eczema will no longer react to it! Also oatmeal baths worked really good when I was a kid! I know there is much more, but I can't think right now! I can tell you the worst thing to use is: TIDE! Never ever use that! Annie's suggestion of Arbonne is a great one! I have customers who have had incredible results with the NutriMinC RE9 body serum and lotion when dealing specifically with eczema. It has Pro-Vitamin C to help repair the skin as it moisturizes. You might be more inclined to try the baby line with your little one, though. At least get some samples from Annie to try.

What doctor did you take your daughter to? Her pediatrician or a dermatologist? Pediatricians don't know much about eczema (at least with my experience). Take your daughter to a dermatologist (a pediatric derm. or a regular one - doesn't matter), and I'm sure the excema will be cured!

I use Aveeno baby wash and Aveeno baby lotion for eczema. I love it. I am use it for my dry skin and it helps!!

Hi Jen, I have a 22 month old grandson that has it severe. Like you we have tried everything from epsom salt to all of the things you mentioned Nothing worked.
Three weeks ago we went to S. Padre for vacation & in 2 days he was completly clear from swimming in the ocean. We had an idea that this would work but had never tried sea salt. After we came back, we went almost two weeks before we bought SEA SALT at WalMart in 2 days he's clear again. We are just putting it in his bath water. My neighbor's daughter has horrible eczema and she swears that giving her omega 3 fish oil capsules have helped her a lot. Don't worry, no fish smell or taste. You can buy them at health food stores.

Have you tried cleaning her with Cera Ve cleanser instead of Dove soap? I use it on my daughter and it works well. The dermatologist told me not to use any sort of soap (or bubble bath) on her. Good luck.

Try coconut oil! I know it sounds crazy, but it is a miracle worker! I've had a few friends that rub it into their skin and it helps sooo much. One says that no medication has ever helped her as much as the coconut oil. She puts it on and sometimes wraps the area in plastic wrap to keep the moisture in for a little bit. :-)
I got my coconut oil at Sprouts..I'm not sure where else it is sold. Also, it gets more 'solid' the cooler the temperature it's kept in, and more liquidy the warmer it is. Mine has directions on it for putting it on your skin - it says to let it sit out until it's liquidy, then rub into your skin.

I know that you posted this a few months ago, but wanted to give you my advice. My son has severe eczema. He has been on medications since he was 2 months old. It has been so bad that he developed a staph infection which turned into a more serious bacterial infection because nothing worked. I have tried oatmeal baths, I have tried every over the counter and nothing worked. I also noticed that someone said that eczema is an allergy. Which isn't entirely true. Eczema is hereditary it is caused by the same gene that causes asthma. So if there is a history of either asthma or eczema in your or your husband's family then you know where it came from. Just like asthma allergies or allergic reactions can cause the eczema to flare up. But eczema itself is not an allergy.

I took my son to a dermatologist who prescribed desonide. I do not have to give it to him all the time only when I see his outbreaks. He is now almost 3 and the eczema outbreaks aren't as bad. When I see him itching I rub the cream on his itchy spots and it clears up within hours (It stops itching almost immediately). I also took my son to an allergist to cover all my basis. He did the prick test and found out that my son was allergic to a lot of stuff. One of the things that he is allergic to is grass. I did notice that when my son is playing in the grass he does tend to get a few eczema spots here and there. I rub the desonide cream on him and it goes away.
Because my son also has asthma we have to treat him for his breathing as well. We give him Zyrtec 2 hours before he goes outside and give him singulair chew tablets at night.
Since he has been on this regime he very seldom has major issues with eczema and/or asthma.

HI-What types of prescriptions has your doctor given you?Have you had "Atopiclair" prescribed?I am a pediatrician in the Plano area and I prescribe Atopiclair all of the time for eczema b/c it is non-steroidal and seems to clear up even serious eczematous rashes.Honestly, even though Dove is supposed to be good, it is actually quite drying.The most important thing is to use very thick hypo-allergenic mousturizers and when you bathe her,dont dry her off-put the lotion right on so it soaks in the water.Has she seen an allergist to see if its an allergy to something specific?Have you tried any oral anti-histamines?

My 15 month old dd also has eczema. I have found a couple things that help. First, I have found that I need to keep her away from cow's milk. Second, I put California baby calendula cream on her while her skin is wet then put her in her jammies. Third, I give her probiotics. Finally, and this one is the most important, I give her omega 3 fish oil each night. I got a brand from Central Market that is for kids. She takes 1/2 tsp. I use a medicine dropper and the majority of the time, she has no problem with it. I takes about 3 days before the eczema almost gone after starting the omega 3 and it takes about 3 days after forgetting for it to come back with a vengence. Good luck!

Both of my kids had eczema. My 5 year old out grew it before he was 2. My 2 year old still gets patched on his elbows and legs. My pediatrician told me to give him allergy medicine to calm down the outbreaks, that seems to help some. We also use Cetaphil lotion. We too tried all the rx, but I didn't want him on steroids so young. The Cetaphil really seems to help clear up the dry spots/outbreaks. Good luck.

All 3 of our children suffer with eczema- I tried most of the same things you have! Something that works well is to apply Evening Primrose Oil on the skin on a regular basis (you can find Evening Primrose Oil at Wal-mart in the vitamin section).

Our son is 2 1/2 and has had excema since he was 6 months old. For baths, we use only Aquaphor baby wash. For clothes, Dreft. For daily moisturizing, Aveeno, Eucerin, Aquaphor (all for sensitive skin or has oatmeal or is specially for excema). For bad red breakouts, we'll use triamcinolone acetonide, 0.1%....only on the red spots and only for two days in a row and NEVER on his face. Using too much or daily will thin the skin. It may be okay to use on the face, but my own choice is to not. Sometimes I'll just use Aquaphor (like Vaseline texture) and slather that on and then top with Eucerin daily moisturizing creme to kind of seal in the moisture. Good luck. It's a daily battle, I know.

My friend's husband is a dermatologist. THey have twins with eczema. They use Cetaphil cream (in a plastic jar) right after they bathe them. They don't bathe them more than twice a week and they are 2 years old as well. Hope this gives you some new ideas.

First get off the chemicals. I have had bad skin all my life and it didn't get better until I stopped using chemicals. I use Seventh Generation laundry soap and dish for when she wants to help with dishes, Dr. Bronner's & Sun Dogs Magic have come out with a new line of certified organic lotions, hand, hair, and body soap, and conditioner. Eczema is from diet and if you could try to figure out what she is eating that may make it worse or cause it and eliminate it would be a start. We go to a homeopathic doctor and has helped us tremendously. The Meds are awful and full of steroids and it is hard to control. The only thing that has helped is homeopathy.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but the ABC line by Arbonne is amazing! My 8 mo. old son has eczema and as long as I wash him with the hair and body wash and rub him down with the oil after a bath he doesn't flare up! I use the lotion in between baths to keep his skin hydrated. My nephews (6yrs and 8 yrs) both had terrible eczema. Their feet would split open in the summers. My son has finally overcome his eczema. What worked for us was using skin-care products with all-natural ingredients like Un-petroleum Multi-purpose Jelly from Avalon Natural Products, Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Pure Castile Soap, and Burt's Bees shampoo. Go with 100% cotton clothing whenever possible because some people are allergic to certain materials. You can also take your daughter to a pediatric allergist to have her tested for skin allergies.

Try horticultrial corn meal. You have to get it from a feed store. Tell them the reason you need it so they will give you the finer ground version. You can have her soak in it in the tub or make a compress from old stocking or a sock. Simply pour in, tie off, soak in coll water, them apply to area. You can look it up on line and it will give more info.

Johnson's and Johnson's soothing naturals balm and cream are great!

My daughter had a really bad case too...I finally went to an allergist. He did some testing and gave me all sorts of advice and tricks I had no idea about. So my suggestion is to go to an allergist because what works for the majority isn't always works for your own kiddo. She was also diagnosed as an asthmatic and once we got that under control her eczema cleared up alomst completely...she gets a few hot spots but its a sign for her that her asthma is in a flare up mode.

Have you seen a dermatologist?

My son has keratosis pilaris and it is red little bumps on his arms and legs (he doesn't scratch them). We use the whole CeraVe program- the hydrating cleasing body wash, moisturizing lotion and we've also used Salex.

We are using Eletone right now along with the Cera Ve lotion and cleansing for the bath. It is prescription.

Have you tried over the counter items like Hydrocortisone? Your Dr. can prescribe a stronger Hydrocortisone if it doesn't respond to over the counter.
There is some Aveeno Oatmeal scrubs in the pharmacy, have you tried any of those?

I would try going to the library or bookstore and getting some books on the subject. See what other people have done and read about it. Maybe you can get some suggestions on what to do.

We had a foster child who scratched a lot at her skin. We used Calamine lotion and hydrocortisone cream and Neosporin. It helped some, however a think a lot of it was anxiety. It mostly happened in the car.

You might try a different Dr. or different Dermatologist. Tell them your problem and see what else they can do.
