Ectopic Pregnancy - Hoschton,GA

I had an ectopic pregnancy and although it was caught before it burst, it did damage the tube and the tube no longer "worked" on one side. I was able to get pregnant 2 more times, my son and my daughter, with no problems. So, even with just one "working" tube, I was able to get pregnant and now have my 2 kids (the ectopic was first). I have had two ectopic pregnancies (1st was caught and resolved with methotrexate, 2nd ruptured and I lost the tube) for a total of 7 pregnancy losses. Good news is that I went on to conceive and carry to term two delightful little girls. Find a good OB and perinatalogist. Best wishes!

I had an ectopic pregnancy at the same time I was pregnant with my daughter. I had emergency surgery and lost my tube, but my daughter survived. I got pregnant again in January. The gestational sac developed, but an embryo never developed so it was a miscarriage, but at least it made it through my tube! My Dr. said my chances of having another ectopic pregnancy are double that of someone who has never had one, but that still only makes the chances 4%-6%. As soon as I got a positive pregnancy test this last time, they had me start coming for ultrasounds and bloodwork so they could make sure it was not ectopic or catch it early if it was. They said it was just precautionary though and didn't expect that it would be since the chance is so small. We plan to try to get pregnant again next month and honestly I am more worried about a regular miscarriage than another ectopic pregnancy. I wish you luck. You might want to talk to your Dr. again about your risk. From everything I have read and what my Dr. said, although the risk is higher, it is still not "high".

Yes it is very likely you will have no further problems getting pregnant. I had an ectopic and one tube removed and had 2 sons later with no difficulty.

Yes! I actually got pregnant three times following my ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately, one of those also resulted in miscarriage, but I then went on to have two more beautiful and healthy baby boys. Good luck!

I never had an ectopic pregnancy, but I did lose one ovary because of a tumor. Three years later, at the age of 40, I got pregnant with my now 4yo son! Good luck!
