Hi,

We have two kids plus three foster kids, for a total of five kids between the ages of two and seven. We'd like to take them all to Disney World, so we're looking for suggestions on the EASIEST way to do Disney. We're willing to pay more for convenience. So, what would you suggest?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

My hubby went there a lot as a kid and young adult. When we go, we always walk counterclockwise to the back and work around counterclockwise. Most people start at the front and go clockwise around the park. It ends up being less crowded for you cause you avoid the big rush crowd at the front, and the crowd evens out by the time you get there. Fast pass the popular rides - over 45 minute waits (you can only do 1 at a time), and then hit the less popular rides while you wait. It's super efficient that way. If you go to Epcot, eat lunch at The Land - healthier and good variety.

Disney World rocks! What we like to do is book a package through Disney. Save us $ doing this way, because we always get the meal plan it will save you big bucks doing the meal package vs paying for each meal separately. We eat cereal in the morning and use the disney meal plan for the rest of the meals. Also don't pay extra for the park hopper, just get the seperate park tickets, because you are not going to have any time to go to two parks in one day. Hope this helps.

Buy the official guide to Disney - published by Birnbaum - it is SOOO worth the $20 it costs. It will give you all of the information you'll need to navigate the parks. Realize that Disney is probably one of the most family friendly places on the planet. If you have any kind of issue while you're there they go way out of their way to help. My duaghter accidently threw out her retainer - at the opposite end of the park from where we were when we realized it. We told a worker and he radioed ahead, got my husband a ride to the other end of the park and they already had the garbage can pulled aside so it wouldn't be emptied by the garbage truck. The retainer was found and the Disney "cast members" saved the day.
Definitely stay on the grounds - the transportation alone will be a huge benefit. Also buy the meal plan. Food is super expensive and the meal plan helps quite a lot.
There's a campground across the lagoon from Magic Kingdom that rents cabins which include a kitchenette and a couple of bedrooms. Not sure beyond that but we met people who were staying in a cabin and they loved it. You can take a boat from the campground to Magic Kingdom which bring you to the monorail which you can take to Epcot.
Also check out the website callead mousesavers dot com which gives you all kinds of helpful hints and lodging advice.
If you go the the disney website and register as a prospective guest who's consider a trip there in the near future you may get on their email list. Not sure when you're planning to go but they often have great deals at the end of the Summer with offers for free meal plans, etc. But it's never publicized except through emails.
I hope you get to go and have a great time. It really is the happiest place on earth. ;o)

Love Disney!! I would try to stay at one of the Disney timeshares. You can either rent them directly through Disney or go on the message board on the mousesavers website and rent directly through the owners. The beauty of the timeshare condos is that you can get into a 2-3 bedroom and everyone has a little bit of space. Additionally, you can o to the grocery store and stock up on food that you can use to make meals so you don't spend al o your money on food at the parks. We always ate some breakfast before we went anywhere. We also would go to parks every other day rather than back to back days and use the off days to hang out by the pool and relax.

When our kids where younger we definately stayed at the Contemporary - its sooo convenient with the monorail that takes you straight to Magic Kingdom. By mid day we would go back to the room and have the kids nap and get refreshed and go back again for the rest of the night. It also connects you to the other parks. I would definately do the meal plan that did save lots of money on food. Have lots of fun! oh and at the Contemporary they have Chef Mickey where the kids can see and have breakfast/lunch with the characters. We also went back to the room to view the fireworks from there. Fun and convenient!

Another tip, check out https://www.tourguidemike.com/ It's a planning service that lets you plan based on the ages of your group and suggests when to visit each park based on projected attendance. I used it on a trip a few years ago and found it well worth the price. Have a great time at Disney! And I just have to add, thank you so much for taking your foster kids too. I work with foster kids and have seen so many put in respite while their foster family went on a family vacation without them. Whether they tell you or not, I'm sure it means the world to them that you're all going together!!

We went last year with a group of families. We ended up renting a house in Kissimee. After staying on site in previous visits, I highly recommend the house option. We had a five bedroom house with a pool, full kitchen, living, dining and family room for probably less than what we would have paid for a week at the resort in one room. We were only 15 minutes from the parks which I thought I'd hate but it worked out great. We could come and go at will and when the kids were tired, they went to bed in their rooms and the adults could stay up (also works wells for naps). We were able to save on food costs as we prepared our own breakfasts. You can see housing options on line. Just search for house rentals orlando and a bunch of sites will come up.

If I take the kids back, we'll be doing the house route.

Are you flying or driving. Flying is faster but in my opinion driving is better. If you drive you can stop at interesting places the kids would like along the way. I went with my sister and her 3, 5, and, 7 year old. We thought it would hard driving but the kids were fine with it. When you get there have the kids go in partners to ride the rides. Have fun.

if money is no object Disney has a service where every detail is planned by them, you are escorted places, etc. that is the absolute easiest obviously.

Doing it cheaper, get the meal plan, have a travel agent help you
