Help. My toddler is waking up at the crack of dawn with a dipe filled with poop. Can I feed him something at night to help him poop a little later? Id their anyway to help him change is poop schedule?

What can I do next?

Sorry, when ya gotta go, ya gotta go! I wouldn't want to mess with giving something to keep him from pooping. That could be a disaster. Be glad that he has health bowel movements. It could be the other way around!

L.,
When you have to go, you have to go :)
I don't think there is anything you can do to change that, specially because at his age, he can't hold it. As an adult we can, but not him. Sorry, but when nature calls, it is what it is :)

Ha! the morning poop - just about as much fun and the middle of the night poop - LOL.
I agree with Ivonne - nature calls, we answer:)

Is he potty training and holding it during the day? If so it could be he gets relaxed enough at night to let loose.

I don't know what you could feed him to get him to go later, maybe try getting him to go before he goes to bed. Oatmeal gets my guy to go, so if I know he needs to go I give him a bowl or a couple of oatmeal cookies and he goes within a half hour. That would be the only way I can think of to change his schedule naturally.

I can't really think of anything that would help, except for maybe trying to get him really active after dinner and before bedtime? Maybe that would help him make the poopies at night, before bed. My little ones have done the same thing at different times, but they usually would stop doing it on their own after a few days. Good luck!

I don't think there is anything you can do, it will probably change over time. I had a bath tub pooper!!! had to use an old aquarium net to fish those things out for months!! YUCK! :)

Id you know if he is actually pooping in the am or sometime during the night? Check him when you go to bed and maybe you can tell. The body digests while you sleep so a morning poop is healthy but perhaps a little too early in this case. My kids as toddlers usually went right after breakfast or a morning bottle.

Be grateful he doesn't take his diaper off and "paint" his crib with it like my son did! I had to race to get him changed as soon as I heard him awake! He was a rooster at 6 am.
