My son has had fluid in his ears since he was born and has had 3 different sets of tubes put in, the first set was when he was about 8-9 mos old. He is now 2. We have always done it the surgical way. He came thru each time with flying colors. I have not heard or having them put in in the office, but I know when they had to remove one in the office it was the most horrible thing I have ever seen and Joey screamed like never before. The surgery only takes about 10-15 mins. In fact, we spent more time at the surgery center before the actual surgery than we did waiting for it to be over and in recovery. He was always the first one to have it done in the day (because of his age they do the babies first) and he would be up and playing by the afternoon on the day of the surgery. The first two sets of tubes were done by a different doctor than the third set. If you are in the OKC area, I highly recomend Dr. Jason Sigmon, he did my son's 3rd set and we havent had any problems and he is very infomative and answers all of our questions. Good luck and God bless you and your family.
