My dd had tubes put in her ears 10/4 of this year and today dh noticed that she has a ton of what looks like wax in/around her ear. Should I be concerned? Is this what the tubes are for to get that all out? I have a call into the ENT who did her surgery for answers. But I figured you mamas/papas ( now that I have read more papas are joining) would have experiance with this with your kiddos. TIA

What can I do next?

My ped told me to use the antibiotic drops that they gave us at the hospital whenever there was drainage from the ears. We use them for about 5 days when it happens. Basically, he said that it was an ear infection, but instead of all the gunk staying in and hurting, it's coming out. And that's a good thing, and treatable with the drops. It happened a few times last winter, usually right after he had a cold.

My son's had two sets and we never really noticed draining, but he does usually can see wax build up in there. As long as you don't see puss or blood, you should be alright, but i'm sure the doctor will probably want to see her.

my son had one set of tubes and my daughter had two sets... as long as no fever indicating anothe infection, the ears will drain.
make sure no puss or blood is draining... well there can be light pinkish blood... this is normal. but i would follow up with that call to the ENT.. just to make sure... good luck!
