Dyson Vacuum, Which One?

Hi all, I'm buying a new vacuum. I'm done with Hoover and Bissell. I've decided I'm getting a Dyson. The question is which one? Currently Costco has a great price on the DC 14, but I'm thinking maybe I should pay a little more and get the DC 25 (the one with the ball). For those of you who have a Dyson which one would you recommend and why? Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

Side note: Target is having a ridiculous Black Friday special on a few Dyson's. http://www.blackfriday.info/sales/target-black-friday-ad....

I agree that no matter which one you decide, you'll love it. I bought one (referbished) for LESS than HALF the price of a 'new' at Big Lots. Works AWESOME! (I don't remember what the number is... It's a yellow one. Not the ball.

Don't have a Dyson, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE - did I say LOVE? - my Miele. Cleans the air (true HEPA filter) - have noticed a difference with my allergies, picks up "dirt" and crumbs that you can't even see. It's quiet relative to other vacuums. It's amazing. I know you decided on the Dyson, but just had to mention the Miele to you, in case you wanted to check it out, if you haven't already.

Doesn't matter, they're all GREAT! I have the Dyson Drive and LOVE it--even though I've NEVER used the car attachment.

I guess it also depends on your needs? I'm not sure if the DC 14 has a smaller dirt cup than the DC 25, but that could be something to think about if you have a lot of floor to vacuum and don't want to keep emptying the cup.

I ended up getting the DC 25 Animal, which basically is the DC 25 (ball) but is purple and came with the mini turbine head. We have a cat that sheds like crazy, so having that head attachment to vacuum the couch, the cat bed, etc was worth it.

I was really hesitant to buy a Dyson because they're so expensive, but honestly, now that I've had it for almost 6 months, I don't know why I didn't convert sooner! Check prices on Amazon too. I got ours while they were running a sale - (with free shipping).

I just noticed that Costco also is currently selling an Oreck. You might want to compare the two (weight, ease of use, etc.) before you decide. We have an Oreck and I love that it is lightweight and thorough...

I have the pet one (purple) no ball and I love it! I have two dogs (American Eskimo spitz) that when they shed I can stuff pillows with! Even tho I don't see pet hair on the carpet, that thing just pulls it right up.

I didn't get mine on sale but I love the thing! I was even thinking of saving up to get the small dyson for use with your vehicles! Personally, if you can afford the DC25, go for it

Just got the 25 after 4 years of using a different brand. I had had a 14 but destroyed it vacuuming up dry wall dust (DON'T) that my contractors left everywhere. Either is great!!!!!!!! I really like the 25 though because it moves sooooo easily and is lighter than the 14. If you want it, google it online. I found it for $390 with no tax and free shipping.

my mil has a Dyson. I used it and couldn't get cat litter off carpet and ended up picking up litter by hand. It was the earlierst model- don't get that one.

You will be so happy! Worth every penny, never knew I could LOVE an appliance so much! We have the lightweight model and it keeps up with a 3000sq ft house + stairs with no issues and very easy to maneuver. Being so light makes keeping up with stairs as much of a dream as vacuuming can be : ) Best deal we have found it the 20% mailer coupon from Bed Bath & Beyond. Enjoy it!

I hate, hate hated our Dyson. It worked great for the first few months and then steadily lost suction. We bought the one supposedly for "pet hair" as we were a three pet family, what a waste of $$$$$$. We invested in a MIELE which I love love LOVE! We bought one with a power handle and the thing works great on carpets, rugs and bare floor. If you are in the LA area, we got a good deal at the Sew and Vac in Long Beach (1762 Clark Avenue, Long Beach - ###-###-####).....they will take your old one, working or not and give you a credit against your purchase. Then they fix the old ones and donate them to charity.

I have the Dyson BluePrint, it is a limited edition. My husband got it at Macys because it was around $100 cheaper than other stores, and he opened a card and saved an extra 15%. I love it. It has a ball, all the attachments and is easy for me to carry up and down our 18 stairs that separate the 2 floors.

I'm very happy with my Dyson Ball. The only negative is that it does not work well on a shag carpet area rug we have.
