We had success with using duct tape on my daughter's warts. We took her to the dermatologist and it was very painful. So we tried the duct tape because she was kindergarten age.

We put duct tape on them (they were on her back) and left it for 2 weeks. Took it off and they were gone and we never had another issue with them.

Blessings!

It never worked for me.

I had a bunch on my feet (7 on one foot, and anywhere from 9-15 at a time on the other. It was nasty.) and we tried everything to get rid of them over the course of a few years. We tried duct tape, several different OTC medications and ointments, even having the doctor freeze them off. They just kept growing back! (They were plantar warts.)

What finally got rid of them, after I had given up on it and resigned myself to a lifetime of warty toes, was garlic. Turns out it's a great natural remedy for warts! I did it on accident too... I went on a kick where I was eating a LOT of garlic dip (which would have equalled about 1/2 to a full clove of garlic a day...) within two weeks, I noticed that my warts were completely gone. It has been 8 years since then, and still no return. :)

Our pediatrician told us to use both compound w and then cover it with duct tape. You have to be consistent, but yes, it worked great.

Yes, it works. My daughter had a wart on her thumb. My husband wrapped her thumb with duct tape every night before she went to sleep. She's 2 years old- so once she was awake she wouldn't keep the duct tape on. The wart disappeared within 3 weeks. I'm sure it would have disappeared sooner if she kept the tape on all the time (which is what's recommended). Another tip: My husband bought different colors of duct tape. My daughter loved picking out her tape color each night as part of the routine. Try it. It works!

Yes! I had a wart as a child that the Dr. tried to freeze off multiple times. Finally someone suggested duct tape. I put duct tape on it for several weeks, only taking it off long enough to change the tape. The wart went away and never returned. It basically smothers it and it cannot survive.

Another good trick if you ever need it, is mayo for lice. My niece got lice several years ago and it kept returning after treatments. They took her to the Dr. who suggested smothering her hair in mayo, put a bag on her head, and leave it for 6-8 hours. The lice never came back after that.

Yes. Band aids work too.

Yes, but what I found even easier, less messy and time consuming was taking a folic acid supplement each day. Within one month the wart on my toe was gone. My daughter's dermatologist told her to try this. Worked for her too.

Yes I had a wart on my pinky finger that wouldn't go away and duct tape did the trick. On another note, I also had a stretchy wart on my neck, right in the front. I went to the doctor to maybe have it removed but chickened out. So I bought some of that wart medicine that you paint on with a brush, and put a little round bandaid on it. Luckily it was turtleneck weather. Anyway in a few weeks it was gone too. I guess I smothered it off or something. Good luck whatever you try!

My daughter had one frozen from her foot at the ped office and recently had one injected and removed at the dermatologist. She was a trooper - but no more gross wart. I'd try the freezing method at your dr. I assume you have insurance? If so, use it. Why risk infection.
