Dr. Brown's Natural Electric Breast Pump

I am hoping to find out about some breast pumps. If you have any recommendations, they would be appreciated. I am using an Ameda Purely Yours right now, and love it, but am interested in a single electric pump. There doesn't seem to be much of a selection. I want to be free to move around, but still have the control over suction and cycles. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would try the hospital b/c you can rent them. Try a couple and see which one you like. I had a madella which I liked. Although I don't know that I had a lot of preferences as long as it did the job quickly b/c I had to do it work. Good for you for nursing. I've nursed all three of mine and I too loved it!

do you not have the adapter that allows you to use the purely yours as a single pump? I had the purely yours and loved it. One other thing I can suggest but it might sound wierd, I did this and it was helpful to get things done. I had an old bra (later bought a cheap one from WalMart) and I cut a hole in the cups with a slit up tp the top. I would slip the bra on position the pump and use a saftey pin to close the top of the cup. This gave enough support to keep the pump in place and allowed me to do somethings at the house (dishes, vacumn) while pumping. They also make something that you can buy that does the same thing but I was on a budget and this worked great for me. good luck

I used Medela pumps with all three of my children. They are excellent.

I rented a pump from the hospital, bought one (the Medela) and brought it back because it had no suction like the hospital one and finally settled on the manual pump from Medela. I could get 8 or more oz. out in 15 min. It took no time and the suction was amazing! Many of my friends recommended the same thing. And for $30, you can't go wrong with trying it out.
