Hey y'all! So w/ a baby on the way and a toddler, I'm considering getting a double stroller. I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on this that you wouldn't mind sharing. Here are a few questions I have; Is it practical to get a double stroller? Which brand is best? Pros & cons of brand? Side-by-side versus tandem models? Two actual seats versus one seat and one sit or stand like stool/seat? Any and all information you can share would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

My kids are 14 months apart. I had the tandem and was happy with it. We used it mainly when going for walks and/or the mall.

I actually have it sitting in my garage, so if you're interested, shoot me back an email. I can email you a pic. I was thinking of selling it on craigslist but haven't gotten around to it.

I have a graco duo glider which is been my best friend...my oldest and 2 and then my baby is 10months. I've heard the sit and stand was great but when I had my 2nd baby my oldest was only 15 months...he wasn't ready for that much freedom. I definitely recommend the double strollers that have the 2nd seat behind the first seat. The side by side strollers are hard to get around in when shopping. I like to go to the outside shopping malls, the outlet mall in Allen and other's, and it's hard to get through the door with the side by side stroller's and unfortunately the stores don't have automatic doors.

Good luck with your search. Having two little ones is so much fun!

Depending on how old your toddler is, I would recommend the Sit and Stand. It has been great for our family and I have several friends who have it and love it. I would say that your oldest would need to be at least 2 to get it though.

Having a double stroller was very helpful to me with my two that were close in age (2 years apart). I have a tandem which was good but somewhat bulky for taking in the car.

When my youngest was born, my other little boy was 17 1/2 months and I was convinced that I needed a double... big mistake. I used it twice (both times at a mall) and our double jogger was too heavy to push by the time my little guy could sit up in it.

Bottom line is, when you go to the grocery store, cloths shopping, etc... I always used the inside of the basket for the infant carrier and the front for my toddler. unless you spend a lot of time out walking or at the mall, when do you use those?

If you do decide to get one, I would not get a side by side, my neighbor has twins and never used hers because she couldn't get it through doorways, hallways, shopping areas, etc…

Good Luck!

the tandom one fits through aisles at malls and such so that one has always worked for me. and when my twins were bigger we got the side by side umbrella because it's small width wise too.
