Double Stroller - Mountain Lakes,NJ

Big fan of the Uppa Baby Vista w/the rumble seat :) My 2.5 year old loves it (and do we, particularly because it is compact)!

Hi- The City Mini Double is awesome. We LOVE it. We've taken it on vacation, we take it for walks every day with the dog, we use it wherever. It is very, very steerable (is that a word?) which is what we like best about it. Someone mentioned it below. Check out the website she mentions. When I was pregnant I did my own survey of moms with double strollers (I accosted mothers on the spot, lol!). Inevitably, everyone loved the City Mini or the Sit and Stand. I knew my daughter would never have stayed standing, so we opted for this one. The moms also stated this one was even better than the Elite, for whatever reason. Caution: it's expensive! But it's worth it.

I only have one child now, but I work at a baby store and have the opportunity to see and use all sorts of double strollers. The best I can recommend is the Baby Jogger. There are 2 that are good. The City Mini and the Select. The City Mini Double allows for an infant car seat and lays completely flat. The sun visor is huge and is really great quality. It is very light and has Baby Joggers special one step fold.
The Select, which is not in store yet, is very versitle in the different options it has for 2 children. I really suggest going to the Baby Jogger website to check it out.
There is also the City Elite. Its is an AMAZING stroller and great quality, BUT is fairly heavy. I have heard though from many M.'s that they love it so much that they don't care about the weight.

i have a city mini double baby jogger for my 2 year old and 3 month old...LOVE it (I had a front/back tandom style with my first 2 kids). It is a bit pricey (ordered mine online but tested it at my local USA baby) and features cost extra (attachment to hold car seat, belly bar, snack trays) but for a great stroller it is worth it (I have several cheaper models that I have stored away or sold). Love the features of the stroller (huge canopies to block the FL sun), fully reclines, lightweight for a double (23 lbs), and easy to manuever.

We love, love, love our Combi side-by-side stroller! My duaghter was nearly 2.5 years old when our son was born and I've been using it since he was about a week old.

We spent a huge amount of time researching options. I looked at posts like yours. We reviewed websites for Graco, Contours Options Tandem Double Stroller, and a multitude of others. I even got to the point right before my little boy was born where I would stop Moms on the street and ask to try out their double strollers (for steering, weight, etc.) Honestly, this last thing was the best move I could have made and most Moms were very understanding.

We finally choose the Combi Twin Sport. We got it at Babies-R-Us so it wan't too badly priced. It was DEFINATELY worth the investment!

It folds in half twice - once over the seats, and once long-ways. It was slightly move compact than some of the others we considered and it fits in our Honda pilot with the wheels against the back of the second row of seats and the handles towards the hatch. This leaves lots of room to the right of it for all the other "stuff" (including space to use as a changing table when we are all out). I was worried about needing to buy a special baby seat for it - not the case. I used a borrowed Graco infant carrier with it. I put one leg into the cup holder on the right side (leaving the center and left holders open for my daughter to use) and purchased a strap with a buckle on it at home depot. We threaded that through the frame and snapped the Graco into place. The strap method seemed to be the way most of the other strollers worked anyway so it did not make sense to spend the money on a new "specialized" infant carrier. I also find it light-weight. It has a shoulder strap available and when I first saw that, I thought I would never use it, but I have. You can carry it rather easily that way if need be. And, don't worry, I have yet to find a doorway it can not fit through. I've never had a problem.

Over all, my best advise is to get some hands on experience. Go ahead, stop a Mom or two or more. They all seemed more than happy to let me test drive their strollers.

I have 2 sons, ages 2 1/2 and 10 months...we did some research before baby came along and finally it came down to Graco's Quattro Tour Duo. There is also the Duo Glide, but I opted for the Quattro because I preferred the way it folded up better and also felt its durability and construction were superior. It has much more comfortable seating for the kids. However, more people tend to go with the Duo Glide because that one is lighter and a bit less expensive. Either way, both are nice. I like these models over the side-by-side types because let's face it, those things are too wide! It all comes down to a matter of personal preference. I suggest you try them out in the store first before you buy to help you decide. Good luck!

I love my bumbleride twin for long walks, hikes or even a jog here or there. For a quick more lightweight double the city mini is amazing!! I know lots of moms with it and they love it!

it is side by side, but is the only double where the seats are independent and you can have the baby face you and toddler face out,

i live in the city and my son is not ready for the boogie board, we walk too far and he would get antsy!

I'm getting ready to have a baby, and my last one will be only 11 months, so we bought a double stroller. It is the Kolcraft Contours. I love this thing, all but how big it is. You really need a lot of space for this thing! Other than that, it's easy to fold and unfold, and it maneuvers like a dream! The seats can easily be positioned to face each other, or the other way around, and there's a huge basket on the bottom, which is a plus for moms of two babies, since we usually have 40 lbs. of luggage that we have to cart around in addition to the children. And it also comes with the attachment to secure your infant carrier on instead of the regular seat. It is a pretty good stroller, and among the less expensive models out there. Good luck!

the mountain buggy urban double is the best--you can get a bassinet for your infant, the seats hold the most weight and are the longest of any i've seen and it folds. it's nice that it's side by side so your kids can be on equal footing instead of one under the other. it fits through all standard doorways, but does take up a lot of room in your apartment

We have the Kolcraft Countor Double Stroller, which we like in many ways, but is HUGE! it's great for talking walks, but not for getting in and out of hte car, or for getting in and out of an apartment building. We just got the joovy sit and stand, which we love! my kids are now 10 months and 3 yrs, so the 3 yr old is happy to sit on a bench or stand, it might not work depending on your toddlers age. We got a Phil and Ted (used online) for my 2yr old and newborn. I would have to say it was the best choice for us...3 wheeled for easy handling, small enough to fit doorways, not super long or heavy. However, the newborn way to arrange the stroller seemed uncomfortable for my toddler and not an easy in/out for the newborn. The arrangement for the older newborn and toddler is much better but the in/out for the little one is still a bit clumsy. Other than that we have been pleasantly surprised that our toddler at times wants to climb in the back section which gives us hope that although it looks small the kids may like it for a while. I think if you drive a lot and don't have so much city walking and shopping in tight stores/doors as we do you would do well with the contours (my fav) or city mini. Good luck!

It was great when my youngest was born and my middle son was 4. Now we are expecting our last baby and my current youngest will have just turned 3 that month. It comes with a bar if I remember correctly which will be great if your toddler is under 3, or you can take it off which leaves the seat more open and like a "big sibling" seat".

LOVE this stroller. Oh! If you check with BabyCenter or one of them and google for coupon codes, sometimes you can get 10 to 20% off if you catch them. ;)

I have an inStep jogging stroller, it works great

Many of my friends have the Bob double, and I'm jealous. I almost got one, but went with Phil & Teds. I am not too impressed with it, and even hate it at times. That said, there's no perfect stroller. The best advice I can give is to really think about your needs--for example, I walk in town a LOT, over uneven sidewalks, so I definitely wanted inflatable tires. But I also shop it town. The P&T is terrible for this--not only is there no basket, but I can't even hang anything from the handlebar.
