All 3 of my kids LOVE puppets. They're 2 3/4, 4 1/2, and almost 7 and they play vwery well solo and together with the puppets.
Hi - my husband just brought home a "dooryway puppet theater" for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas. It says for ages 3 and up and there's a pretty young child pictured on the cover. I'm not sure if my daughter will like this or not, and it's a bit expensive. Does anyone have any experience with kindergarten-age kids and puppet theaters? It seems like a cute idea, but would love to hear if it's been a hit in your home or classroom.
Thanks!
Thank you to everyone that took the time to respond! I really appreciate your input. We are definitely keeping the puppet theater and I look forward to all the different creative ways we will use it. Happy holidays to you all!

huge hit in the daycare and also in my home. it is great on several levels. it allows them to make up stories but also later on it allows them to write stories down and have them acted out. my kids loved it
Your daughter will love it! My daughter is turning five in a couple of weeks and we had gotten her a tent-style puppet theatre along with a bunch of puppets two years ago for Christmas. We just put on a puppet show for daddy a couple of weeks ago.
Also, my niece, who just turned 9, enjoys making puppets and doing puppet shows for the family. You will get many years out of it for sure.
super big hit in several classrooms I've been in. Also a life saver on snowy or rainy days since you can invite some friends over and the kids will go to town ( also you can do some craft project make your own puppets and use them too)
We had a puppet theater in the day care center I used to work at and it was a big hit with the kindergarten crowd. The 3-4 year olds didn't play with it much, they weren't much into the "acting things out" and "making up their own story" kind of play yet. The Kindergarteners loved making up shows.
Your daughter is just the right age to enjoy it! And when she gets older she may get more elaborate with it by making her own puppets!
It is a hit in my son's K class. I think she will love it.
Thanks
