Catholic charities takes household items (especially their refugee services - they set up apts for refugee families and need household stuff for that. )
I know many charities will take gently used household items and clothes so that they can resell them, but I have a lot of items that are more than gently used. I have kitchen ware like pots and pans as well as adult and baby clothing. Any ideas where I can donate them? I do know about Freecycle, but honestly, I don't want the hassle of posting online. I just want to give them away all at one time. And if an organization can pick the items up, that would save me a whole lot of trouble of dragging my two young ones around. If I have to, I can travel to Dallas to drop off items.

If the items are still useable stores such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and ARC will come pick them up. I've been told that when items don't sell they ship much of them to under privileged countries.
Salvation Army! I also donate to our local Womens Shelter Thrift Store.
I had BigBrothers/BigSisters come after a garage sale & they took everything that was leftover - check them out & see if they can schedule a pick up! Good luck!
Big brothers big sisters takes clothing and household items like that and they pick up donations.
A woman at my church is collecting items for a women's shelter. If you want to contact her let me know.
depending on where you live could you just put it at teh curb with a free sign??
I love FC and what you could do is just make one post and say, if they want your baby clothes they have to take the pots and adult clothes too then it's up to them to re-freecycle them. You lose a bit of control over where it goes though, Personally, i would pack upyour car with the stuff and meet the freecycler in a public parking lot just for safety. leave the kids at home and take someone with you if possible.
I don't live in tx but i'm guessing there are women's shelters that might not be as picky if they aren't trying to resell stuff. try your yellow pages (do people still use phonebooks?!?!?) or call churches and ask if htey know of shelters or people in their congregations that could use a little help.
good luck getting rid of your stuff and I think it's great you want to bless someone with your extras.
There are lots of posts on Craigslist from people looking for anything free, or left over garage sale items for them to take to try and sell another time to earn them money. Any item, can sell if the right person at the right time comes to the right sale. So, look on Craigs and see if anyone will pick up for free, anything you have left.
The humane society picks up items as well. They sell the donations to fund their shelters.
Great suggestions, but my one thought was if your cookwear is teflon or any kind of non-stick coated material and is banged up or scratched - throw it away. it may feel like such a waste, but he pan is no longer good and could cause harm to those who cook on it. I am sorry if you already did this and know this, it is just a little note of caution from someone who HATES to toss things out if they appear to still be functional :) My husband is the one who reals me in on some of this and we just had to toss a non-stick pan this weekend due to scratches, etc.
Mission Metroplex/Mission Arlington - you can call them to schedule a pickup. Just tell them everything you're donating (doesn't have to be too specific - last time I just told them I had 6 bags of toys & clothes) and they'll stop by with a truck, take all the items off your hands, and leave you with a tax receipt!
You can visit their website at:

Helping Hands is in Rockwall (off Hwy 66). We've taken LOTS to them, but I think that you can even arrange for them to come pick it up.
Also, we just recently donated a ton of baby clothes (the items that were still in good to great condition) to a Teen Mother's Group. If you would like that information, please feel free to email me and I will get you the number.
Blessings!

Where are you located? I volunteer for Sharing Life community outreach in Mesquite and we take just about anything. Please look them up online and see what they do, it's a great organization. If you don't like this idea, call the ARC (association for retarded citizens) and they pick up from your home. Message me if you have more questions.
Not sure if they have Amvets in Texas but they will come and pick everything up. You just have to call them and you can leave everything on the door step with a sign. They will leave you a tax donation receipe too.
Also you could always make a general post on craigslist. Free household items on curb. I have done this with a bunch of my sons old clothes that were still in great shape but stained.
I was home when one lady came to get the free clothes. I started talking to her and she takes the items to the orphanges in Mexico. I got her number now I just call her if i have items to give away.
Hope you find your items a ggos home.
Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas
Their goal is to end Domestic Violence
Allen Community Outreach has a store and they resell it to people in need. I believe the Salvation Army and Goodwill do the same.
Also check with women's shelters. They are my first go to place because some women are in process of being placed in apratments and have nothing.
I don't know if they go all the way out to Rockwall, but I've had The Salvation Army pick up stuff back when we had a home in Dallas several years ago. We had an entire 2 car garage packed with stuff and they took everything, even the items that were "more than gently used". :-)
When we moved from our first house in Grapevine, we took several truck loads of stuff to Goodwill. I think we called The Salvation Army then too, but they didn't have pick up in our area at that time, so I don't think they cover the entire metroplex.
I know G.R.A.C.E. in Grapevine now has a truck to pick up stuff, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go to Rockwall. Maybe there is a relief agency specific to your area that would though. Maybe try calling 211 and see if they can refer you to an organization that takes donations in your area.
The website is https://www.211texas.org/. I just did a search for Rockwall on the 211 website and came up with Rockwall County Helping Hands, Inc. They are listed as a food pantry, but they appear to have a thrift store based on the listing so maybe they would take your stuff. Here is the contact info: 950 Williams Street, Rockwall, TX 75087, ###-###-####. I don't know anything about this organization at all. It's just something a very quick search on the 211 website came up with.
If you can't find an organization to come to your house to pick up, you can always just post your stuff on your local freecycle group and state in your post "must take all and freecycle what you can't use". I almost always leave anything I freecycle outside in the yard, porch or driveway so I don't even have to be there when someone comes by to pick the stuff up.
Hope this helps. :-)
Blessings,
N.
Salvation Army and Goodwill will most likely take them off your hands. You can schedule a pickup by going online and they will come get it from you...you don't even have to be home, just tell them where the stuff will be and they'll leave you a reciept.
If you are in Arlington, call Mission Arlington and they will schedule a time with you to pick things up.
Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex will take anything and they will pick it up. Their number is ###-###-####
