Good Morning Moms,
I am looking for a dog trainer...someone who can help with an aggressive dog who has some major issues. The issues are with outsiders (and occasionally my husband). Does anyone know of anyone who can help with something like this? Thank you!
Thank you for the suggestions! We got the dog thru a breeder, he's a Rottweiler, super smart but we probably took on more than we can handle with such a strong breed. We took him to a training place and left him with them for two weeks when he was young (probably the biggest mistake we ever made)...so, I really just need to get a handle on the issues once and for all. He and I get along great but he's just as stubborn as my husband and it can make the household seem to chaotic at times. Thanks again!

oh, for a moment I thought the issues were in training your husband, teehee just kidding. Anyway, some dogs are out and out aggressive anyway, Petsmart, Petco, all the pet places have dog training, but my mother and step father raise dogs and despite all their best efforts they had to send an extremely aggressive dog back to the handler (show dogs) The dog gave my very experienced mother a black eye, not on purpose of course, but just was aggressive and had a high level or something - so try, but sadly sometimes just like people you cannot over the personality of a strong willed dog.
I use Establishment Dog Training. (their web site is establishmentdogtraining.com). They have classes but will also come to your home for specific training.
Good luck

It sounds like something that would be best worked through at your home.
I have used Bark Busters with my dog and have been extremely happy with the results. You pay a fee upfront and then you unlimited training.
Also I have heard great things about Narnia in Naperville.
Good luck it is not an easy issue.
We take our Rottweiler to k-9 dog training in Lockport. Not sure where you live but we've had great luck with him. This is our second rott and we have three kids.
PetSmart also has dog training and so do most vets. Check into those.....Good Luck, I'm sure he's a great doggie....most of them are if they get love and understanding.
Google the rescue group in your area for the specific breed of dog you have. They will know. I have a rescue dog and he has issues the rescue group has been helping me.

You can go to her website...doggonegoodtraining.com (I think it's .com)
Try "A Closer Bond" dog training in Palatine on Northwest highway. I have sent two of my dogs there and they came home tame and trained!
We used a guy from a company called That's My Dog and had great success with our dog. I don't have their number handy but they are in Naperville (as well as other locations) but I am sure if you google them you can find them.
