L.L.
The pods are scabiosa pods. The greens are dusty miller. It also has peonies, white sweet pea, and french tulips.
It is something I saw in a wedding centerpiece that I'd like to use... it's a light brown thing that sort of resembles a honeycomb... or kind of like a hornet's nest? And it appears to be on a long stem... any thoughts? I'm still searching for a picture, and if I find one, and it doesn't include the name, I'll at least post the pic...
EDITED TO ADD - FOUND THE PHOTO: http://www.oncewed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/blue-we...
And since I'm asking, anyone know what that greenery is called? I like it too... :)
Thanks!!
Thanks, Ladies! But it's not the peonies that I'm wondering about... it's the light brown things... that look like hornet's nests, or seed pods of some kind...
THANK YOU LEAH!! You nailed it!

OH NO...I didn't read your question throughly! You weren't asking about the flowers themselves! Ignore the rest:
Looks like a peony to me...

Water lotus seed pod maybe?
Monkey ball seed pod from sweet gum tree?
Pink ones look like peonies. I made centerpieces for my daughter's highschool graduation with them. I just bought little fish bowls from the dollar store and they looked beautiful.
Pink ones look like peonies, whilte one look like dahlias.
I have seen fake ones sold at Michaels craft store!
I would just print out your picture and take it to your local flower shop or nursery...they will be able to help you L.!
It sounds like maybe it's tropical... check for tropical plants and flowers in your search.
I can't make the picture larger so I am not sure but to me they look like plane tree seed pods.
Print the picture and bring it to a local florist or Garden center! They should be able to let you know !! Good Luck :-)
I second Denise P's suggestion, a dried water lotus seed pod:

I don't know what it's called, but I've seen something similar in the dried flower section of Michael's craft store. Good luck!
Not sure, especially since it may be dried or dyed...
Similar plants that look somewhat like this are Allium, Waxflower (hoya , possibly hoya carnosa), and Buddleia globosa.
Good luck!
