Doctor Help

Because of your location you will get a lot of responses for Womens and Babies Hospital in Lancaster, they are a part of Lancaster General Hospital. I personally, through friends, found it to be too large and impersonal. May Grant Associates is a huge OB/GYN and they are affiliated with Womens and Babies it is a large practice. I know a lot of friends that loved it there. I delivered at Ephrata Community Hospital. Though their ER is absolutely terrible, Ephrata OB/GYN was absolutely the best place for us. The Dr's and midwives were awesome and their delivery rooms and Labor and Delivery floor is not as large as Womens and Babies but just as good if not better (my opinion). I found it to be more personal and I didn't feel like a number that was just there until the next one came along. The nurses and Dr's were incredible to both me and my husband and most importantly to my son.

I would highly recommend Women's Lifecare in Lititz. Dr Goldberg is female and so is Dr Livingston. They are two very caring OBGYNs that are top notch!
I want to caution using Ephrata Community OBGYN. If you want to know why, please contact me.

Strasburg Family Health Center (it is a family practice) is wonderful, especially Dr. Christopher Putney. He delivered all 3 of my children (9,7,5). He has gone above and beyond with his services and his bedside manners are superb. The children love him and he interacts with them very well. I have had occasions where I've needed to see the other doctors within the practice and they as well are very personable and compotent to take care of your needs.

I've only used midwives with my babies, so I can't really give any ob advice. I used Birth Care in Quarryville and delivered at Ephrata Hospital. I live about three minutes from Women and Babies but since using a midwife was a priority for me, I drove right past it on my way to Ephrata. I can't say enough positive things about the hospital...they were just wonderful and very respectful of my slightly left of center birth plan.

The midwife who actually delivered my last child is now at Ephrata OB/GYN so they certainly have that going for them (she was wonderful). Plus we use Strasburg Family Health as our family doctors and a friend who used them for her deliveries raves about them, so I can only second what the other posters said about these practices.
