Do You Sale Health Insurance? I Have Questions About Individual/family Policies

I am looking at trying to become a SAHM. That means going from my group health plan to an individual or family health plan. My husband has quite a few health issues and I need to see if he can even get coverage or if any of his conditions would be considered pre-existing. Please contact me because I would really like to see what our options are. Thank you!

Check with your auto or home insurance company to see if they offer health insurance and the various cost and qualifications. Often times if you get one or more types of insurance with the same company you can get a discount on your insurance.

I just got a divorce and a job that does not cover health insurance. I found a great plan. I pay about $450, for myself and three children. My co pays are $35 and I have all the same great doctors that I had when I was with Cigna and Blue Cross. They have a plan (which I have included in the $450) where my $5000 deductable will be returned to me for Emergenecy room visits (ex. broken arm, stitches, etc.) But it doesn't cover and what I would have to pay out of pocket up to $5,000 for minor surgeries like gallbladder (but I would get the innetwork discount). Contact me if you have more questions and want to look into it more and I can send you a form to fill out and see how much it would cost you.

If your husband has been continuously insured with no exceptions from his current insurere OR he has received no medical for those conditions for the 2 past years, a condition cannot be excluded as pre-existing by a new insurer.

I don't sell insurance, but used to work in an agency.

Hi I do sell insurance so thought I might respond with as honest information as I can. Individual (or Family self purchase) policies are not guaranteed regardless of whether someone has had prior coverage or not. Certain conditions can unfortunately affect whether or not your husband would qualify for coverage. Conditions are looked at typically over the last 10 years, but major things (like cancers for example) can go beyond that 10 year mark. If your husband were not to qualify then you might be able to go for Cobra which is a continuation of the group benefits. If you work for a small employer who is not legally required to carry a cobra option, then he may qualify under the Texas High Risk Pool. Unfortunately both of these options are at a high monthly cost. Does your husband have an employer who offers coverage? Employer coverages are typically guaranteed so if his employer does offer benefits that may be a way to continue benefits for the family and his pre-existing conditions.
