B.H.
I do - but I see them on a regular basis, and they help me out quite a bit. I don't buy them gifts per se.. but I make a tray of cookies/candy and take it in for them with a card letting them know how much they are appreciated.
OK, I know I asked a bunch of questions today already (its slow at work) but here's my last one - I'm planning on giving holiday gifts to my son's teacher and teacher aide but I'm wondering if I should give something to the admin staff as well... I dont even know how many there are.. do you gift and if so, what? Thanks!

Nope, teachers only, otherwise I'd go broke!
I bring in treats all year long and make sure they get something special at Christmas.
I've done admin jobs and KNOW they work their BUTTS off and with the recent cuts they STILL do it with a SMILE! That goes a looong way with me.
I always remember the admins, corporate or preschool. They are the unsung heroes of the office. We had one admin at my kid's preschool and I always got her something...usually a gift card.
If there are alot of them, bake a plate of goodies w/a card to the director saying "Merry Christmas to you and your excellent admin staff!".
I would also determine which ones work directly w/your child/your child's teacher/your child's grade level and get something for just them. Why get something for the admin for PreK when you child is in the 2 yo class for example?
If there is only 1 or 2 of them, I would get each of them something, esp if they have helped you or answered at least one question when you popped into the office.
Bosses can't get their jobs done w/o their admins.
If you like them or just want to do something nice, then just bake (or buy) them cookies or a fruit or veggie tray! they will really appreciate that!
Give a gift for the "office."
ie: a group gift.
For everyone.
Usually some food item.
That they can all, enjoy. As an office.
And a card, thanking them for all they do. Because they do field a lot of... stuff.
You don't have to get EACH single individual person, a 'gift.'
I didn't. I only gifted the teacher's who worked hands on with my kids. I did buy for the director one year, but that is only because I had worked with her many years in the past as her assistant teacher. So no, you do not have to buy for the admin staff.
Nope, just to the teacher and her aid, and something small for them.
I always gave a group gift bowl of individually wrapped candies to the office.
Thankfully there are only 7 teachers/staff at our preschool so I send them an edible arrangement. One year I had pizza delivered there for lunch...
Our preschool is on the smaller side...no PTO. I plan to bake goodies/make candies for her teacher, the assistant, the regular volunteer, the office lady, and the director.
I have also gotten to know them a little bit through some of my volunteer work on the side lines....it just feels like the right thing to do.
I would ask another parent or two if they would like to go in with you to put out a nice selection of goodies or host a breakfast (bagels, etc.), esp. if there isn't a PTO.
Having worked in the elementary sector, I know the staff in the office never got as many gifts as we did and they were a little sore for it. However, the PTO did a decent job of hosting staff breakfasts/lunches.
Well I do but only because there is only 1 director of the Parents Day Out and 1 director and 1 assistant for the Preschool. For my kids' teachers I usually put together little holiday packages of fun stuff (cheese knife, tissues, pen, etc.), a $10 gift card and some homemade baked goods, but for the Admin staff I only do some baked goods, one or two holiday trinkets and no gift card. I want to recognize them but that would be an extra $30 in gift cards alone so I just do something smaller.
