I think when men see a *difference*, they assume it is a change you've made, thinking YOU think it's for the better so they automatically compliment...thinking they are SAFE! LOL
I have been pretty much trapped in my home for a week after ACL surgery. Before my surgery I purchased my head piece for my wedding. Nothing big it is just this comb thing with some crystals in it. I am old and getting married again, ya know, trying to keep this low key.
S'anyway, I have my bobby pins and hairspray and I am playing with my hair. At first I had it pretty much like I would like to have it for the wedding. Oh, just and FYI I have curly hair so it is fun to play with. So then I thought what about some lift in the back, then more hairspray. Okay when I was done I could easily get a spot on Jersey Shore if I tanned a lot more.
So I put the comb back in its box and forgot that I had played with my hair so much. So Troy comes in from working in the yard, "your hair looks good".
What! I look ridiculous! I look Jersey Shore! The man who rarely compliments my hair picks this time to compliment it!!!!!
Okay so I did take the compliment nicely but it got me thinking do guys like big hair?
I am far too conservative to be that woman because the look does look silly on me, but still....
Oh I know he loves my hair so please don't think I am upset with the compliment. I guess I am just wondering if other women have gotten compliments when you least expect it and such....well that and do guys like big hair?
After reading Dawn's post I don't think I was clear, there is no way I would have big hair at my wedding. I was first married in 88 so you can imagine how big my hair was in those pics......yikes!
Okay after reading all the posts maybe it was just the curls all over the place. Who knows, I guess men are just as strange as they claim we women are. :p

My dh to be, says "ooh, Farrah Fawcett" when I do the big hair... He SEEMS to like it, but.... LOL 80's hair was so easy to achieve, my hair just WANTS to do the poofy thing!!
I think we should all post a profile picture of us in the 80's with our big hair.
:)
Who's with me?
they do. weird creatures.
do not indulge them in this.

In my experience, men like hair that is touchable and not sticky with product, and they like it messy-looking like it's OK to run their hands through.
I'm not sure about "big" since I have fairly thin, fine hair and couldn't get it to look "big" if I tried. Oh yeah, except for those really bad perms back in the late 70s/80s!
Depends on the man. My husband can't stand big hair. I agree with Dawn. Most woman look at their wedding pictures and cringe at their big hair.
My husband has never commented on my hair- it's always been "as long as you're not complaining about it" and he's always been happy with my appearance.
It's been chaos around here and I simply haven't had the time to go in for a cut. As a result, my hair has become pretty long (it grows quickly no matter what) and when I mentioned that I needed to get in for a cut, my husband says: "uh, really? I kinda like it long."
Fourteen years of marriage and that is the FIRST time he has ever made a direct comment about what he likes! So I'm keeping it long. It's a pain, but until it absolutely drives me nuts, I'll keep it long. Men...
Congrats on your upcoming wedding and I hope your knee heals quickly, too!
Depends on the guy is what I think. I also think you should wear your hair the way you feel most comfortable.
men typically like things that indicate healthy women ripe for breeding, its their instincts (we have our own) lots of hair indicates healthy, just as toned muscles good teeth, bright eyes also do.
.
Well, my Hubby does not like big hair.
No men I know, likes big hair.
When hair is kinda wild (and curly hair tends to be), it sometimes looks like you've just, um, gotten busy. I have very voluminous wavy hair and get tons of compliments on my "bed head" aka "sex hair"! Guys definitely like hair that doesn't look too put together or perfect.
didn;t like it in the 80's and don't like it now. lol but to each her own
My husband LOVES big hair! He's glad to hear that 80's hair is making a comeback!!
As a married mom now I have returned back into big hair lots of volume & texture believe it or not my hair is so different now & how I like it to be.I love Jersey Shores hair styles I hate dull flat hair that has no personality. No I don't like the teezed rat nest look mine is flat ironed.Maybe he seen your hair as beautiful that day.Mine doesn't notice but I don't mind because it's not for him it's for me it is my hair to do with what I like.
I find that they like extremes ... really long hair or really short hair.
I've never been able to grow my hair long but in the 90's I cut it REALLY short.... longer in front but shaved like a guy would do in the back (nothing punk... it was actually in style then) and MAN did I get attention w/ that hair cut. I use to have guys come up and rub their hands up and down the back of my head.. a few of them even said girls always did that to them and they wanted to see what it was like! So I think they like extremes.... and a big bunch of curls piled on top of your head sounds adorable!! Not for your wedding but every so often you should do it like that for him!!!
I guess it depends on the guy. Mine can be rather opinionated. But he's not stuck on one style. He likes to believe he knows what style looks best on each person. We met in cosmetology school 27 years ago. Neither of us finished for various reasons. He used to cut hair well. Now he's forgotten how and none of us want him to touch our hair LOL! My 10 year old asked me today why I don't let him cut my hair. Then when I made a face she told me she was kidding and laughed!
