I have used baking soda, 2 Tbsp. I think mixed with my regular shampoo. Works well, hair feels super clean after and not greasy or weighted down.
Want to do a hair rinse for buildup. My hair is thick & naturally curly. I've researched online & the apple cider vinegar with water sounds pretty good. Any ideas here? Thanks!!

My stylist has used Neutrogena Clarifying Shampoo for this purpose.
Dawn
A mixture of 1/2 baking soda and 1/2 clarifying shampoo. Use a bunch and let it set for a minute or two. Works like a dream and I do it to myself as well as my daughter when our hair gets all gunky and dull.
Beer. And it leaves a great shine. It may sound weird but I try to use it once a week. I rinse with beer first then shampoo. Just make sure you get it to room temperature first otherwise it's shockingly cold! lol
Baking soda. Ac vinegar can make it look a little greasy. But some use only those two things.... baking soda followed by the vinegar.
Wash with Dawn dish soap, then your usual shampoo.
I use a different shampoo and conditioner for a week. Something just as good.
I use Pantene curly hair and conditioner. Then when I go off it to cleanse any build up I will use something like Herbal Essence. I use it a few times then go back to my Pantene.
I have had friends husbands notice my hair looking different. It shines more, it bounces and curls better too.

Your vinegar recipe is the way to go. Absolutely. White vinegar is fine too. I use white vinegar as fabric softener on my towels....it's lovely stuff.
