I am two weeks into a pretty sudden separation from my husband. He just came home one night and said that he wasn't happy and wanted to leave. (Were there problems? Sure. But it was still a shock to say the least!)
So I was put in a pretty stressful situaion and went from being a SAHM to a wonderful 6yr old...to having to find a part time job, run a household by myself, take care of our son 24/7, and just try to put the pieces back together when I feel like I am just falling apart!
Does anyone know of a Divorce support group? I just need to be with other women dealing with the same thing.
Thank you so much for the help.

What can I do next?

D.,

I'm so sorry about your recent separation ~ it must be very difficult & scary, especially as a Mom! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Be sure to seek the support of your family and friends too, but a support group is an excellent idea. Great job being so proactive for yourself and family.
I think checking at a local church is a great place to start, you could also call a local hospital to see if any groups are offered there.

Warmly,

Hi D.,
I am not sure where you live but at the church I attend we have a support group called "Divorce Recovery" for adults who are going through a divorce or "newly" divorced. There is also a group for kids called "Stepping Stones" . These groups are at Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 40000 Six Mile Rd., Northville, MI 48168, phone.# ###-###-####. website: www.wardchurch.org
I hope this information is helpful.---M.

I'm not sure what area you are in, but you should be able to check the Divorce Care website (sorry I don't have the link) and see where in your area sessions are being held. I led these classes at my church last year and they are very good. We will be doing another session, I'm just not sure when.
