District 204 - Is School Attended Determined by Address? Opinions on These.

In my current county (in FL) we have a stupid thing called "school choice" where your school is determined by your ranking and a lottery. It is not regional. I just wondered if District 204 is regional or if we choose.

Also, what is your experience with Builta or Kendall elementary schools?

What can I do next?

As far as I know, attendance at all IL school districts determined by your address. You can call the district office and ask where the "boundaries" are for their district.

I live in Oswego. I can tell you that in Oswego the schools are great. My son attended long beach, traughber and thompson junior highs and now attends oswego Highschool. all have been steller schools. I nanny for a family in district 204 and yes all of those districts 204 and 308 in kendall county the school your child goes to is determined by address. if you have your child in a school not determined by address you can be charged out of district fees which can add up to as much or more than a private school. the children I nanny for go to mccarty elementary and it is a great school. good luck

Start by contacting the district office, and ask them if you are in the boundaries of the district. If they say "no," ask them for the phone number of the regional office so the regional office can let you know which district you are in. That'll save a lot of runaround. I called 4 districts until one finally gave me the # for the regional office, which finally clues me in.

Welcome to IL!

Yes, district 204 is regional. I believe on ipsd.org you can find boundary maps.

My son goes to Builta and he loves it and we love it. The teachers he has had so far have been great, the administration is receptive, the building is newer (around 12-14 years old I believe) and the facilities are immaculate. Even the janitors are nice. :)
There is a strong curriculum and tests scores are excellent. The PTA is active and always offering some program or event for students and their families. We couldn't be happier.

District is by address, not choice.
