Disneyland Tickets on Ebay??

I was thinking of grabbing the kids and taking a weekend trip to Disneyland but because I am so frugal I was looking for inexpensive tickets. Anyone ever bought and used them off ebay? I have bought many many things off ebay and find it a fantastic sight but this would by far be the most expensive also have the most riding on it coming through. I have read the reviews and all are great but I would be more comfortable if someone I could talk to has actually done it. The savings are worth it, believe me! Ebay stands behind their sellers and would not let them sell anything that is not valid. They would refund you if that happened.

What can I do next?

I have never bought tickets through ebay or craigslist and I never would. Tickets are often counterfeited and how would you know? How would you track down the seller if they were? Not a chance I think is worth taking.

There are a ton of scams out there.
Do not buy partially used tickets for Disney on eBay. You don't know what is really left on them plus you have to put your fingers in a machine at the gate for a measurement. You can't use a ticket someone else has already partially used anymore.
I would never, never, never in a million years buy a ticket for the Disney parks at ebay. First it is against ebay rules to sell them, since they are legally non-transferrable items and you WILL get scammed.
You should read some of the Disney boards online to hear the horror and sob stories!
Buy your own tickets at the park or through the travel companies.

I recently spoke with my MIL who lives in Anaheim. I had heard that Craigslist will have people post tickets. They'll buy a one week pass then sell it to you to "rent" the pass for one day. You must return the pass by one hour after closing. She said that she was HIGHLY skeptical of that b/c when you go to purchase tickets now, they use your fingerprint to indentify you and ONLY you can use the ticket. Disneyland isn't stupid. I think they've got this figured out so that you HAVE to pay full price or go with a reputable company to get a discount. Sorry, but I woudn't risk it. Those reviews online could be fake - written by friends of the scammer to help him in his scam.

You could end up buying them and taking them to the park only to find out they are worthless - and then end up paying what you should have paid in the first place. I wouldn't chance it, this is one of those times that being frugal isn't necessarily in your best interest.

No no no no no. I would never in a million years buy tickets from ebay. There are far too many people that are ripping people off now and Disneyland does have procedures in place because to sell half used tickets is against their policies.
There is far to much risk.

Well, for starters, Disneyland's ticket policy does not allow transfer or sale of a ticket or pass once it's purchased.

Not to mention, what happens if you pay some random stranger money for a ticket that is either a) confiscated because it's not technically yours or b) has no days or value left? Is the savings really worth it? You're spending money on gas to drive, a hotel to stay at, and it would be pretty heart breaking & counter productive to have worthless tickets.

People DO get ripped off on ebay (not all the time but it does happen.)
And even if ebay did refund you it would probably take months and be a huge hassle.
Plus, what if you get to Disneyland and it turns out the tickets are worthless?
Not worth it, IMO :(

Be careful buying tickets from someone other than Disney. I know here in Florida Disney does not let you transfer tickets. They scan your finger print when you go through the turnstile and it stays attached to that ticket.

Plus you don't know for sure that they are even valid tickets the only way to find out is to bring them to the park.

We are going in June and have decided just a few days ago to purchase the Southern California CityPass since we will be there for a whole week. However, before we made that decision I had been looking on the internet for the best deals. I found two. One is at www.getawaytoday.com We have used this company before and they always have the lowest prices. You can buy a whole package with the hotel and tickets or just buy the tickets. The other deal I found was a seller on Ebay.

This Ebay seller buys the tickets brand new, probably at a corporate discount price and then sells them on Ebay. I have been talking to him through email and his prices are going up after May 28th. You can use the tickets until the end of 2012 but if you want the lower price you have to purchase them by May 28th. His listing just ended and he doesn't have a new one out yet (probably due to the price increase) but you can view his expired listing to see the information and you can contact him through Ebay or through the email address on the listing. The listing number is 120914255859. Just type the number in the search box on Ebay. You actually don't purchase the tickets through Ebay, you purchase them through Paypal. His listing is only for $.99 which is a coupon for $1 off Disneyland tickets. You basically contact him through email, decide on what tickets you want and then pay him through Paypal. He then purchases the tickets and sends you an official Disneyland ETicket that you take to Disneyland and exchange for a hard ticket that can be used on the FastPass machines. Under his listing he has two links that you can view what the ticket will look like and also a picture of his email inbox that shows that he purchases new tickets each time. You will have protection of your purchase since Paypal will protect you as well as your credit card company.

I looked under his sells and actually sent an email through Ebay to four people that purchased tickets from him recently. I asked them if they had any problems with the tickets at Disneyland. Two of the people responded back to me saying they had nothing but good things to say about the seller. The tickets worked great and they had no problem at Disneyland. They both said when they go again they will be contacting this seller. I would have no problem buying from him after reading those two responses. His prices are cheaper than www.getawaytoday.

Good luck with what you decide to do!!

PS...if for some reason you can't pull up the listing on Ebay send me a message and I will forward you his email address and phone number.

find a family that will share a 4 day pass with you. You buy them and use them for two days and the other family comes when you leave to use for another 2 days. it worked great for us. just don't sign the ticket.
