I don't know WHERE, but I do know everyone here says you should buy the dining plan from home and save $$$$$$$.
Hey ladies I have a delima.
My husband and I are going to Disney World sans kids for our anniversary this December and I need to decide where to eat dinner on our anniversary.
does anyone have any suggestions?
I don't like seafood. And I wasn't really planning on getting all dressed up ( required jacket type).

Congratulations on your anniversary. My husband & I will be going to Disney in December too to celebrate our anniversary. We HIGHLY recommend the California Grill. (I don't like seafood either - but they have non-seafood options.) It is on top of the Contemporary Resort so you have a beautiful view. What's perfect is making your dinner reservations around the time of Magic Kingdom's fireworks show - you will have an amazing view of the show from the restaurant. Reservations book quickly for this restaurant.
Here is the dress code (from their website):
•Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.
Not permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.
Hope this helps! Have a fun trip!!! :)
If DisneyWorld is the same as DisneyLand,
the Blue Bayou, next to the Pirates of the Caribbean,
is very nice.
To look at restaurants that are outside of the park,
look at the Orlando Chamber of Commerce website.
You might also want to look at Zagat.
Call the 1 800 Disney dining number. You should be able to find it on their website under their restaurant section. (The website would be a good place to look too)
You will want to book a priority seating with these cast members and I have found most of them willing to discuss what they think would be the best restaurant for your needs.
Have fun and congratulations!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Narcoosee's located at the Grand Floridian. Our dinner reservation was for 8pm and by the time our dessert was served the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom were going off. They pipe the music from the fireworks show into the restaurant so you can hear it while you watch the show from across the lake - the lights flashing off the water was beautiful and the perfect ending to our special date.
Narcoosee's specializes in seafood but also has other options available - we had steak and lobster which was divine.
Jiko's is another signature dining experience and their food pulls inspiration from African flavors. Always had great food there and the service is superb.
If you're wanting a steak - go to LeCellier. It's located in Canada at EPCOT. Their steaks are amazing and pretzel-style breadsticks are to die for.
I wore capris/hubby wore slacks to Narcoosee's and Jiko's. The whole family was in shorts for LeCellier. So, no need to worry about getting super dressed up - unless you just want to.
The Disney website has menus available so check those out if you have a particular craving. Special note - LeCellier books up quick because of its popularity so book reservations early. If you book at Narcoosee's, ask to be seated by one of the windows so you can watch the fireworks and have them verify the time of the show so you'll be there at the right time.
Congratulations on your special event!
We have done the T-Rex in Downtown a few times. It's AWESOME!
This year we also dined with the princesses in ?Norway? I think it was...At the Akershus. When we first went in, the girls all got their pics taken with Belle. We then were seated, or orders were taken and then we were told we could start on the buffet. While we worked on the buffet, we were visited by Ariel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and allowed pics with all of them. We were then handed a folder with not just 1 8x10 photo of the girls with Belle, but 2, along with several 5x7s and 3x5s. There were 5 of us, and the price of the pictures, the 5 meals INCLUDING the unlimited buffet, drinks (non alcoholic--you pay for the alcoholic ones) AND dessert ALONG with tip--was $120. We will be dining at both places again next year as well.
I agree with the California Grill. We went for our 1st anniversary and loved it. You need to get reservtions as soon as possible for about an hr before the fireworks and request a window table. You would probably want to dress nice but don't have to dress up. Happy Anniversary and have a great time.
We LOVED Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Have fun!
I second the suggestion of dining at the California Grill. It is in the Contemporary Hotel and they have excellent food and service (in addition to a beautiful view of the fireworks) You will need to make reservations far in advance-and it may be too late, but call anyway! This is our "go to" place to celebrate special occasions! Another excellent restaurant that we have dined at is on the second floor of the French pavilion in EPCOT-it is called Bistro de Paris but it is not quite as frequented as the other restaurants there. And there is a better atmosphere there. My other suggestion would be Artist Point in the Disney Wilderness Lodge. It has a Northwest theme, but a varied menu. Happy Anniversary! All of these locations would follow the dress code someone mentioned below. About the only Disney restaurant that has a stricter dress code is Albert & Victoria's -that is a great place but very hard to get reservations and very $$$$$.
the coral reef is awesome and they serve more than seafood.
for buffet we love Boma in animal kingdom lodge as well as the tucker house in animal kingdom.
check out allears.net it'a a consumer site that rates the disney restaurants
the dining plan is a must if you stay more than 1 day
If you like Indian food, Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is excellent. We liked this restaurant much better than Jiko (also at Animal Kingdom Lodge) which we thought was spendy for what was offered and only OK on food. Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge) was outstanding, definitely a huge variety of unique and wonderful foods and desserts, but it is a buffet, so very family-oriented, and perhaps not what you would want to do on an anniversary dinner. If you will be in Epcot, I would recommend the Canadian restaurant if you like steak, the French restaurant (not the super fancy upscale one, the more moderate one is still very elegant and you can dress casual), or the Mexican restaurant (very romantic setting, like being outdoors, only you are indoors). Ask for a table near the volcano/boat ride. It is a very cool atmosphere. Can't go wrong at Disney, I hope you have a wonderful time!
