The discharge is normal my obgyn said it could last as long as a year. Good Luck!!!!
OK, this is a little gross so... Since the birth of my son a year ago, I have had constant vaginal discharge. I go throught at least a panty liner a day. Before I had my IUD put in when my son was 5 months old, this was the case. Now I have had the IUd for 7 months, my son is a year old, and this is still going on. Is there something wrong? there is no oder, and the color is a light yellow. I have been to the MD and she said I was all clear, but she was a General MD, not a OB GYN. Did my body just change after having the baby? I am just fed up with this "not so fresh feeling". PLEASE HELP!!

I had the same thing since I had my son, he turned 2 Memorial Day Weekend. As time goes on, it will get a little less, but not much. There is nothing wrong, it's a hormone thing. The IUD is causing some of it not to get better. It's a pain in the bottom, but not really a problem. I started getting dermatitis (dry, cracking fissure, which looked like paper cuts) all over down there. I went to see a dermatologist that specializes in vulva care. She gave me a prescription for the pain and iching caused by this and the best prevention that I could possible had tried. If you have or get this problem try this, buy a sitz bath (the little toliet thing you can soak your bottom in), soak for ~5' one to two times a day, then pat dry, apply unscent, plain vasoline, you will not have any more problems, the discharge will still be there, but it won't hurt. Sorry I can't give you advice to make it go away, it's just part of motherhood (or this point of your hormonal change).
Hi S.,
I delivered 3 months ago (son was born April 20th), and I still have a yellowish discharge that doesn't show signs of stopping. I figured that it is just a hormonal thing since that is what causes the monthly discharge changes anyway. I'm sure that it what is going on with you as well.
Though I do not have an IUD I have a simular problem, My OB says it could just be a hormone change. (My son is 6 1/2 months). My best sugestion is to get an OBGYN. If you live in the huntersville to concord area I can recomend a great practice.
