I asked this same question on here a few months ago and got 2 main answers photoshop elements or scrapbook factory. In the end I went with photoshop elements. But my problem was I didn't know how to use it. A friend of mine sent me a 9 min tutorial on how to use it finally and since than I have LOVED photoshop. Hopefully you can get a good list of places to find free digital scrapbook paper, embelishments, frames, word art, etc. by typing into google free digital scrapbook paper (or whatever) that's how I found all my stuff. I've heard if you by PSE 7 at Costco it comes with a tutorial, but not sure since I purchased mine at Walmart. Good luck and Happy Scrapbooking
If you have a costco membership or know someone who does they currently have a coupon out for $30 off photoshop elements 7 which I think is normally around $79.00? anyway. The coupon goes until April 5th. Definitely a great price. The one thing about photoshop is you will either want to watch a tutorial or take a class. In my area all the cities offer classes through their recreation departments and through continuing education. This program can do everything you would ever want to do with photoediting and scrapbooking, and you have the flexibility to do every step of your scrapbook page the way you want it.
Anyway good luck and have fun scrapbooking.
I am a Creative Memories Consultant in Centennial, Colorado. You can find my website at www.mycmsite.com/lesliepowell or call me at ###-###-####. I'm not sure where you are located -- I used to think the Mamasource stuff I got was just local to my area, but I now realize that it is not.
Anyway, I LOVE the Creative Memories digital software. There is Memory Manager to help you organize your photos and Storybook Creator Plus (SBC+)to create digital pages of different sizes. The prices are very affordable and the software can do almost as much (and maybe even more than) some of the more expensive programs. Memory Manager is $39.95 and Storybook Creator Plus is $59.95. You can purchase digital kits for about $7-$9 to add to the SBC+ program. Also you can download freebie digital scrapbooking kits and embellishments from anywhere else and use them in SBC+.
I print my pages at Costco and have been very pleased with their quality. You can also print at the Creative Memories photo center.
I mix traditional and digital scrapbooking because I like playing with the paper, but I like the speed of doing digital.
Let me know if you have any questions. If you are not local to the Centennial, Colorado area, you can log onto www.CreativeMemories.com and locate a Consultant close to you by plugging in your zip code.
Good Luck!

I also use Photoshop Elements. The learning curve with PSE7 is pretty steep, so get a book or do an online class to really get the most out of it. Honestly though, there is SO VERY MUCH you can find out there for freebies. I've found several gig of freebies that appeal to me in the last couple of months. I've only actually bought 1 thing - and I have tons of fun stuff. Check out www.ikeagoddess.blogspot.com for an almost daily list of goodies. And there are plenty more freebie sites that will keep you going!
Also look for digital scrapping sites, you know, the kind with forums, etc. They usually have a forum with answers, tutorials, freebies and challenges. Try digishoptalk.com or designerdigitals.com or digiscrappingtutorials.com
Good luck!

I use Creative Memories and it's awesome and not expensive. The lady that I use is very knowledgeable. She helps you a lot to get started and any questions you may have along the way. I've done one, but I really love the traditional, but am able to do digital pages and insert them into my traditional album. There's just a lot of flexibility. If you would like her information, my email is ____@____.com.
I am a Creative Memories consultant and from what I've seen of it, we have some wonderful digital scrapbooking options. Just this month there are some gorgeous new baby and children digital papers and add-ons. I say "from what I've seen" becuase I have not used much of the digital scrapbooking yet. I have started a photo book for my sister, and I love all the choices for layouts, but I havent used any of the digital papers and such...everything is still black or white. You can check them out at my site: mycmsite.com/K. hansen or you can go to creativememories.com to find a consultant in your area.
Hi! I don't scrapbook, but I have a friend who is great at it. She took an online, self-paced class that comes with all types of ideas. Then she bought Photoshop from Costco for like $80 and uses it to make 12x12 pages which she then uploads to Costco.com photos and they print them out for her on a 12x12 piece of photo paper that she can stick in an album. They come out really terrific. She has also made invites and labels in the same way, just creates a "photo" using PSE and then has Costco print them out for her.
Hey J.,
My friend saw your request about digital scrapbooking and thought I might be able to get you some information. My name is L. and I am a Creative Memories Consultant. There are a lot of programs out there for digital scrapbooking. They vary in how much you can do with them. Some of the let you organize and crop and design all in the same program. Others have just the organizing or just the designing. The priicing is extremely varied also. I have been in the industry for about 12 years and have seen a lot of them. I like the system that Creative Memories does for several reasons. One it is very user friendly even if you are not very good at the computer. Two it is very competitively priced. I have a customer that enjoys doing a lot of the more complicated digital things with her photos and before CM had digital had bought and used several programs. When the programs from CM came out, she switched and said they were cheaper and did more! So I would suggest that you go to creativememories.com and check it out. There are basically 3 program. One does the organizing and cropping/manipulating of your photos, one is a FREE download drag your photos into predesigned pages, third is a more make your own designed page. All product are available on the CM site. Also there is a consultant locator, so you can find a consultant near where you live. The consultant might have the softwares loaded on a computer that you could go and play with, I know I do and my customers have loved that! I am in Utah. Anyway, I hope this gives you a little more information and that it was helpful! Happy scrappin'!
snapfish.com and if I want to be more fancy I use googles picasa to edit pictures etc. then upload to snapfish to go in the books.
Admittedly, my way is the easy way out, but I enjoy it. First I buy poly photo pages with pockets for the size of photo I have. (Try to google Century) Then, I use my photo shop (any clip art will do) and create a title page for the section I am working on. You can give it a border, a cute title, a date, designs, etc. Print it up, slide it in a 8x11 clear photo envelope page and voila! you have a clever title page and all the photos that go with it in one section.
Well, if you're a Mac user, I can recommend "iScrapbook" for digital scrapbooking. Just to be clear, my husband is part of the company that sells iScrapbook so I'm just a little biased :) But you can download a trial version from www.chronosnet.com and see if you like it.
Plus, you can get hundreds of really beautiful scrapbooking kits at www.iscrapbook.com. If you don't have a lot of time to create your own designs, these are a great solution. Just plug in your photos. Anyway, I hope no-one is offended if I post this. Like I say, I'm biased but I really do think it's a great product. LOL!
J.,
Sorry to hear that your child is in the hospital! No fun. You are lucky to have most of her pics on the computer already though! I like snapfish.com and mypublisher.com
Try those!

I use scrapblog.com :)
I am a consultant with Heritage Makers - my website is www.MyPhotobookStory.com. The application is online which is great - you don't download anything to your computer. This solves the dilemna if your computer crashes, you upgrade your computer, or you want to work on your project when you're on another computer. The templates are amazing, and more is added each month - at no additional cost. The templates are also 100% customizable. You can completely tear them apart, change backgrounds, artwork, add pictures, etc. Please contact me at ____@____.com for more information.
Funny you should ask because that is exactly what I am doing right now ;). I LOVE IT. I use Photoshop Elements. There are lots of freebies on the internet and lots of tutorials to get started. I too did a bit of paper scrapping but was so far behind. Now after 8 months of doing digiscrapping, I have completed over 100 pages. It is a LOT cheaper, less mess, and you can do SO MUCH with this program. If you have questions, email me
