okay ladies here is my dilema. I have gained some weight in the last 2 years that it's to the point that I dont like to see myself this way anymore. Dont get me wrong my body doesnt define who I am as a person because no matter what I am still a great mom and wife but I would like to lose some weight for myself. My husband is gggreat he never says anything about it, infact when I say I am to fat he says "you look great" what a liar but nice. I had seen a informerical on THE SIX WEEK BODY MAKEOVER and my question to you ladies is has anyone tried this, and if so any feed back you give would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I've used it and it works....BUT...like anything else you try, it requires a committment. I used the program a couple of years ago but didn't keep the weight off because I didn't maintain a nutritional diet. I have since accepted that it's 80% diet and 20% exercise which sucks since I'm really great at the exercise part. While the program works, I wouldn't recommend it unless you eat healthy as a way of life rather than a diet. Hope this helps.

Hi G.,

I tried the program and loved it more than Weight Watchers. However, I was using someone else's program material and had to give it back. It was great, because it told me the foods that I should and shouldn't eat for my body type, and I was able to do the exercises at home while my daughter was a sleep or playing. Plus, the exercises are taliored to your needs. The dining out guide was great as well. I have been trying since Janurary to purchase one on line from ebay, but seem to always get out bidded.

I understand how you are feeling, because I am there right now. Trying to lose weight from 2 kids. I just want something that is going to work and make me feel full with all the right foods.

Honestly, I've read that "diets" are not the way to go. I've read this great book by the Dr. Oz (you know, from Oprah!) all about the body, how it works and everything. Fad diets are only temporary and usually unfufilling and can be expensive. What really works is a lifestyle change. Put more fresh, raw foods in your diet. Less packaged products (because who knows what's really in those!) More exercise. Less sugar. No sodas. Vitamins. More water. No counting calories- just don't eat the bad stuff. I was a chocoholic (it runs in my family! lol) until I decided to do all of the things I listed above, and now, I made it through Valentines day without chocolate and I didn't even miss it! And I only started a few months ago! I keep carrot sticks in the fridge for when I feel I REALLY need something, and after a while the cravings for the bad stuff goes away- it's awesome! Hope some of this helps!

I have tried many types of "quickie diets" and wasted A LOT of money trying various fad diets and quite frankly, I believe that the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to adopt a new eating plan and exercise system. Although I am not a member right now, I do plan on returning to TOPS as soon as my schedule allows. TOPS= Take Off Pound Sensibly- is a non-profit weight loss support group. You pay $25 per year and then your local dues (usually about $5 per month). You make wonderful friends, motivate each other, learn about healthy living etc. I don't know where you are located but the group I used to belong to meets on Thursday nights at Bethany United Methodist Church on the NE side of town. The meeting starts at 7pm (people privately weigh in between 6:15-6:45) and its over by 8pm. Anyway, good luck!

In response to your question, no I haven't tried this makeover diet. I recently lost over 20lbs in 4mths the natural way. Meaning, I would really have to go off the deep end eating bad foods to gain the weight back. Throughout the years I've learned that diets don't work. Eating is all about discipline and intaking the right foods at the right time. When you tell yourself you are going on a diet, your body responds as if it is being starved and doesn't burn fat the way it should. Also, you have to work twice as hard to keep the weight off when you lose the weight from one of these programs. I am talking from years of experience and I love to eat. Believe me natural weight loss is the way to go. If you're interested we can talk further.

Hey G.,

I saw that infomercial also. I struggled for years with weight gain after a miscarriage and depo shot. Going from a size 9 to a 18 wasn't what I wanted. The only product I ever found to help me is the "patch". I was introduced to the "patch" and because of the unbelievable benefits still use it. I initially dropped from 18 to a 14/16 pants and 12 dress. I am not continuing my journey to reach my old size. You can read more about the "patch" at www.stickittoloseinches.com or email me here or at ____@____.com and I would be glad to answer any questions.

I have lost 15 pounds and two pant sizes sense Thanksgiving, the "old fashioned way". I cut out sugar, I was a total chocoholic, I could eat a king size candy bar in one sitting. I joined a gym and do trekking "a treadmill class" 3xs a week and yoga 2 nights a week. I do feel so much better and hope to lose another 15 pounds. Oh and I started drinking 8 glasses of water a day or more. I do use some packaged products to help me out...like zone protein bars, and K2O protein water. But I haven't tried any other products. IF you do use that program let me know how it goes. Good luck, I am with you on the weight loss journey.

I did the 6 week body make over several years ago and did very well on it. It is tailored to your body type, which to me makes more since than one size fits all. Best of luck to you!

I'm not sure about that makeover. I have not tried it but I did lose 37 lbs last year on ARBONNE'S FIGURE 8 weight loss program, eating healthy and working out. For me I had to change everything... If you have any questions, email me! I'm happy to share with you just what I did.

Weigth Watchers worked for me. I recommend it to everyone. And a little or a lot depending on you of excerise. I like to walk myself, your kids are old enough to walk with you, it will be good for them also. A quick fix is just that a quick fix. Good Luck
