I am interested in what everyone thinks about taking diet pills? I am wanting to lose weight and I realize their is no "magic Pill" and lot of that will come with regular workouts and healthy eating but am still curious! I hear so much about various types of pills....to curb your appetite or speed up your metabolism. Does anyone take something?Or swear by something they could recommend? Also, any BAD experiences or "rip offs" i should avoid? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Diet pills are a myth. You have to change your whole eating outlook. My friend an author and cook has written a book called 3-2 Gourmet and has her own spice line. www.ProteinGourmet.com and also famous fitness expert Makc Newton www.macknewton.com you should check them out.

Hi, From what I have seen different diet pills work for different people. The problem with diet pills though is that they don't provide a balanced diet, so if you aren't used to eating a balanced diet, you end up with a lot of deficiencies. The only program that I have seen that worked for me was Herbalife. I am an Herbalife distributor so if you are interested in information on products you can reach me at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. Losing weight is hard no matter what so it's important to have someone there that understands. Good luck, B.

Okay I am the #1 cheerleader AGAINT diet pills....for a really good reason :)
A few years ago I took Hydroxycut and dropped 20lbs in 2 months (with eating well and working out)..yay..so about 2 years later when I wanted to lose weight I used it again with very different results...I started having chest pain, tingling in my arm, dizzy spells, and spots in my vision. When I went to my doctor he said that I had developed a serious arythmia in my heart from the pills. I was 24 when this happened and never had any issues before. Now any kind of moderate excerise shoots my heartrate thru the roof and makes me sick. I now know that the main goal of these pills is to speed up your metabolism by constantly increasing your heart rate (constantly working it overtime). You should talk it over with your physician before considering taking any diet pills and definitely don't take them if you have a family history of heart disease.

I was taking Xenadrine... then I started with the "you" diet. Based on the book "You:On a Diet"

I stopped taking the pills when I started the diet to see how well it worked... in 4 weeks I've lost 13 lbs and 4 inches from my waist. WITHOUT pills.

Hey J.,
I am VERY wary of diet pills, typically they make the body burn the fat TOO fast and then when you go off, it's back to sqaure one.
I am doing weight watchers online right now, I have three family members who have dropped a considerable amount of weight successfully through WW, over 60+ pound each...

As a matter of fact my father-in-law George will be on CBS news at 5 today about his weight loss...check it out!

So I know weight watchers works and I've have even lost three pounds already in 4 weeks...I know it sounds slow, but in this case, slow but steady wins the race, I know what I lose is staying off and if I keep going the rate I losing, by this summer I'll be shameless in a bikini...YEAH!
Right now if you go to their website you can get one week free and after that 5 bucks a week...It's easy.. I just replace one fast food meal and there's my weight watchers' fee!
http://www.weightwatchers.com
God bless you on this journey.

Medications are dangerous territory. If you want to learn more about what you should do and get advice from some who have really been there try this website. I have lost 2 lbs in a week so far and learning to eat better to assist my metabolism and curve appetite with it. One way to curve your appetite is to drink water between meals. It's amazing how full a 16 oz bottle of water can make you feel. Anyways the website and I recommend it to anyoney who truly wants to lose weight and obtain a healthier life style is sparkpeople.com
Good luck and I hope you at least check it out. No I have no affiliation with them I am just someone who stumbled across the site and I am amazed at what I have learned and what it is doing for me.
