Many of you likely heard awhile back about a recall of baby bottles due to the plastic leaching out BPA chemicals that are harmful to your baby. Well, I thought I had a safe sippy cup, it is a Nubby brand. Is any plastic really safe? I screwed off the top and took a drink of the water that has been siting around in it all day, and guess what, I could taste the plastic in the water, so it is obviously leaching! I'm really pissed! I'm determined now to find safe, no plastic alternatives for cups, bowls, & plates that can be dropped on our hard tile floor without breaking. I'm a little overwhelmed with all the info out there on the web for alternatives. Stainless steel seems like a good choice, however it can be made with different metals, what is best? Wood products sound good too, but what wood is best, is there glue added, and what is the sealant, and is it safe? I also need to figure out how I'm going to pack a lunch for my toddler for preschool. Any other Mama's have these concerns? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. :-)

I would check out the soft landing website to help you sort through all of this. It really helped me, and they even sell the products you are interested in. It is so hard to muttle through all the muck and find what you are comfortable with in terms of safety. then comes how expensive things can get, sigh. Good luck! http://thesoftlanding.wordpress.com/
I would check out the Foogos cups by Thermos, if I were you. They have sippy cups and larger toddler straw cups that are BPA free. Here's the website...http://www.thermos.com/SubCategoriesCatalog.aspx?CatCode=...
I would research on google for the best price, if I were you, of course.
Hi,
I bought sippy cups from Tupperware for my daughters. They were very good and lasted many, many years. I assume they still have them available to purchase from Tupperware.

You are confused because it is confusing! There is always glass, but I'm not sure you have to totally give up on plastic. Do some research on your own. This website is a good place to start.
