Diaper Wipes Without Perfumes, Fragrances, Lanolin, Aloe, and Vitamin E

We used to get unscented wipes at Target. Store brand was great. My youngest is now 15 so I do not know if they still have them, might be worth a quick look.

My daughter has eczema and they told me in the hospital to use gauze and wet them with water.It has worked great... I've also gotten wipes from Chamberlins that did not have any of those things in them but I don't remember the name; however it was in a blue box. good luck to you..

My brother had this and the only thing my mom could use was cloth diapers. I know they are a pain but they worked.

The only wipes I can think of that I have seen that are organic are in Target. I don't know the brand off the top of my head. Maybe you have already looked at those, Im not sure whats in them, but I do know that they do not have fragrances or perfumes. I would of thought the aloe and vitamin E would help with sensitive skin, but im no dermatologist. Also you may want to try looking in a natural food store, in the baby section, maybe they have something. What you may have to do is to get cloth wipes if you can't find disposable ones without all that stuff in them. There are some wipes called: Pampers or Huggies for Extra Sensitive Skin.
I used to use those with my baby!.
I bought them in England and Israel (where I used to live) at any supermarket, so you should find them easyly in America!. If not, try a pharmacy!.
As a last resourse, go to Huggies or Pampers website and ask where can you find them in your area.

I used Wal-Mart's Parent's Choice real cloth wipes. I'm allergic to aloe so I had to look for stuff like that and it was the only ones I could find. I know they don't have fragrances or aloe but I'm not sure about the lanolin or E but you may want to try them out. Good luck with everything.

I use Costco's brand: Kirkland's Signature. They come in a huge box of 704 wipes. I know they do not burn because I myself have atopic dermatits on my hands & when I use them, they don't hurt me. My daughter was born with severe eczema & they're the only ones I would use on her too.

Go with the Huggies newborn wipes. Huggies as does most companies do make wipes without any perfumes or fragrances. I think that is what the dermatolist was trying to convey to you.

I have not had this problem with any of my children, my middle child has eczema & was never bothered by the wipes.I guess I was lucky.

This being said, when I was little, I was allergic to the diapers of the day (they have come a long way) and my mom was refered to use cloth diapers & cloth wipes. Now I know no one wants to think of this, but why not try paper towels instead of wipes. Just blot instead of rub, this is easier on the skin than rubbing anyway. They have completely natural no artificial anything paper towels & they are not expensive. Just moisten with some warm water and blot away.

Check your local health food/natural store. They carry natural products that will not irritate the skin.

We personally just did away with the wipes. My daughter had a major rash when she was a few weeks old. She was red, chapped and bleeding. It was horrible. Her skin was extremely sensitive. We would use a paper towel if we were out and/or a washcloth (a baby one) and would just wash that. For all the kids we used nothing....also you might want to change the brand of diaper you use. My daughter could not use Huggies, or anything except for Pampers. This was the only brand that would not give her a rash....the boys could use any diaper. Just some more to think about...Good Luck.

Avalon Organics makes some that are also biodegradable but they are on the expensive side. You can find them at Whole Foods. They also sell the Seventh Generation brand someone else mentioned.

Because of your son's skin allergy, you also want to get either cloth diapers, G-diapers, or the Seventh Generation Brand Diapers. You'll also need to switch detergents. Seventh Generation makes a great detergent you can get at Publix.

Atopic dermatitis is the same as atopic ezcema which is just an ezcema that is diagnosed as hereditary. I'm not a doctor but I have helped lots of moms and have had a lot of experience with all types of ezcema and it is systemic. It is caused by a weak immune system and there are several things you can do about it. If you're interested, I'd be glad to talk to you about it.

Also, I have a solution that you can make a baby wipe with that is very gentle on the skin and is terribly inexpensive. (It has none of the ingredients you listed.) I'd have to explain that to you also :) I lean toward the natural so I dodge perfumes anyway. The lanolin and the aloe that some manufacturers use is not a high grade and with all the other chemicals in the products, it's hard to find something that would not affect him even worse than the ingredients you mentioned as long as he has this condition. Once the immune system is working at it's optimum, ALL allergies should go away.

Have you tried using Huggies Sensitive wipes? I use them on my 10 week old and they are great.

go one line and see what is out there or call aneonate ward of the hospital and ask.

I worked as a nurse in two different neontal ICUs- we would just wet disposable wipes with warm water. Au natural is the best and is most physicians state of mind. Infant's skin is very sensitive and prone to many adverse reactions. Both units banned baby powder also. When at home I would try to use infant wash cloths and warm water, then when out and about use the Huggies Unscented.

For your baby I would try to use the least amount of chemicals as possible- that is all that is in baby wipes. Chemicals. Cloth and water are the best!!!!

I remember when I took a class during my pregnancy that the nurse suggested using viva papertowels (I think they're really soft) and a squirt bottle with water. They are perforated in half sheets so she said that you can just use what you need. It's probably cheaper than buying the organic/sensitive skin ones.

I would suggest cloth wipes. They are very easy to do. You can do a homemade solution or you can get sensitive solution. I personally put them in a wipes warmer with some water and changed it every couple of days to keep bacteria away but some prefer just to spray the wipe with a spray bottle before use. Try Huggies "NEWBORN" wipes. They were perfect for my son's sensitive skin.

Whenever my kids broke out in diaper rash, they did to a high degree (open sores every time). And every time, their little tushies would make them scream with any wipe I used on them. They would see the wipe box come out and scream while running for cover.

When I would mention this to doctors, nurses, my mom, sisters, and lady friends of mine, they all said the same thing. "Have you simply tried wet paper towels?" Boy, did that do the trick. I highly recommend Bounty as they hold up best to the wetness. If you get the ones where you can select a size...those work best, just the right size. My kids no longer run in fear when they see me with a clean diaper and a wet paper towel when that tush gets sore.

Try using cloth wipes. I used them on my daughter and you can buy them on Ebay. Just use a wipes box to store them and you can add whatever ingredients you'd like. If your daughter can only use specific shampoo, add a little of that to the wipes. 1. You'll be less wasteful 2. You can add whatever ingredients you want 3. they are cheap in the long run. I found flannel material wipes to be the best. They were around $12 for 24 wipes. Make sure they are the same size as regular paper wipes, this is so they fit in the box.

Both my kids had sensitive bums, so I ended up making my own wipes. It used a roll of bounty paper towels cut in half with the cardboard removed. Then, I added a homemade "recipe solution" to the dry towels. I found the recipe on the internet. Try a search for homemade diaper wipes and you should find several recipes to try. I ended up modifying my recipe everytime I made them according to what I had on hand. It was very fun to do.

Good luck. It is hard to find anything that doesn't contain harmful materials.

I know Walmart in our area carries several lines of organic wipes, and I don't think they have any of the mentioned ingredients, but you'd have to double check. I know they have the parents choice organic wipes which is the cheaper comparison of a more expensive organic wipe they also carry, it may be huggies.
My 2 year old has excema, and has an allergy to soap, even the baby soaps for sensitive skin and we can only bathe him in oatmeal wash. If your son is sensitive to the wipes, check out his soap too. Take care!

It is nearly impossible to find any products these days that are not made with harmful ingredients, including the ones in health food stores and far too many of the ones whose companies claim to use no harmful ingredients (recently an article exposed many of these so-called "healthy" companies).

When my kids were little we didn't have wipes, we used cloth diapers and cloth baby wash-cloths and kept the used ones in a plastic bag until we got home.

I also have a great recipe for disposable baby wipes that is completely free of any sort of harmful ingredients -- just let me know if you'd like it! My website is on my profile page.

Also, another thing to consider is food additives: the skin is the body's largest organ of waste excretion, through sweat. Many of people's skin ailments can be traced back to the preservatives, artificial flavorings and colors, and other additives put into today's packaged processed foods -- and even in non-organic produce because of the use of pesticides. These chemicals end up sitting on top of the skin after being brought out with the sweat, and can cause reactions that look like eczema, acne, and so on. They are also reabsorbed and then re-sweated out over and over, along with more from subsequent meals... and you can see how this ends up being a toxic soup that we're continually bathing ourselves in.

Try Seventh Generation. They are bleach free and should be fragrance free. I am not sure about the lanolin, aloe and Vit E, though. You'll have to check on that...

I had the same issue with 2 of my children. I used HUGGIES UNSCENTED which has none of the above and also the Wal-Mart brand PARENT'S CHOICE UNSCENTED has no fragrance etc. Hope this helps.

I have never seen any without aloe, I have never heard of anyone being allergic to aloe. It is known as a natural healer, we actually have plants in our yard for this reason.

That being said the only solution I would have is ordering reusable washable wipes. I am including a link below to a woman who makes them.

Try the Seventh Generation wipes, which are sold at Babies R Us. They are hypoallergenic, chlorine free, etc., plus they're good for the earth! :)

Pampers Sensitive. I buy a large box at Target or Walmart for about $10. I liked them much better than Huggies brands b/c they were thinner and softer. Used them for over 3 years for our twins. Highly recommend them. Our kids get eczema break outs from time to time as well.

Don't know about the vitamin E, but there is one variety of Target sensitive wipes that doesn't have aloe, perfumes, or fragrances. Couldn't swear about the lanolin or vitamin E.

You may also want to consider using cloth diapers. Google sunshine diapers for a tutorial; it's a great site and cloth diapers really aren't that bad. For wipes though you can use baby washcloths (you get eight of them for about $2.00 at Target) and water and just launder the washcloths separately. Since we use cloth diapers, we wash the washcloths with the diapers, but you could do them separately. We use the Target sensitive wipes when out and about, but I need them so infrequently that they usually dry out and then I use plain water to rehydrate them. You could try that. Or just use paper towels, very wet, and then pat your baby's bottom dry if you are out and about.

It will help to not use wipes for just a pee diaper, and then to pat your baby dry after a poo before putting a new one on.

I know the hospital had plain cloth wipes that we just used water for. I tried to find them and couldn't, but you could make more of an effort to find them. Maybe call North Florida here in Gainesville.

I'd suggest cloth diapers with the covers to go over them. They work well and really they aren't as aggrevating as people say. My son had the same problem with diapers breaking him out, he grew out of it though. They sell different types at wal-mart for good prices. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Wal-mart has there brand that actually has none of the above in it. It also has no alcohol in it either. We had the same situation.

Both of my girls have sentive skin to Pampers and to their wipes. I use the Huggies Sensiteve. With no frangrance just the unscented kind. They have never caused a problem for us. The Huggies brand is the only think that did not cause a diaper rash for them.

I wish I could help but we only use eco-friendly, reusable items. If you're interested in cloth wipes, I could help. Also, I know of a very inexpensive natural cream for eczema. My friend's hubby had the worst case I've seen.. for 40 years!.. and he has used this $5 cream for the last year and his skin is as clear as a baby's butt.

Wow... that's quite a list. I checked my wipes (seventh generation) and also the recipe for baby bits, but it seems like these both have essential oils, aloe or vitamin E. The only thing I can suggest is to make your own. Here's a recipe from the diaper jungle:

Basic Wipes Recipe

* 2 tablespoons baby shampoo or wash
* 2 tablespoons oil (food grade cooking oil - not baby oil or mineral oil )
* 2 cups distilled water
* Mix in a jar and then pour over wipes. Store extra solution in the fridge.

It seems like this is the only way you'll be able to control things. Lots of people use this by putting a stack of dry paper towels (cut in half) in an old wipes container and pouring the mix over the top. Please make sure you use UNBLEACHED paper towels, or you run the risk of negating all the work of making your own wipes! Seventh Generation makes good unbleached paper towels, and who cares that they're brown since you're just wiping poop on them anyway! The other thing you can do is to invest in some cloth wipes and put your wipes solution in a squeeze bottle and squeeze a bit on before you wipe. Hope this helps!

with 1 of my children i had this issue and used just plai water and a wash cloth. when she got older and her skin not so sensitive i started using huggies unscented. with the following 2 i stayed with huggies unscented. personally all natural is great. its the best thing for babies skin that i've found however makes it hard when on the move.
