A.B.
We just bought a luggage set by Delsey and it came with a bag that I love just because it's pockety and kinda big. I would say look for something that has pockets that are easy to access that you can put food, any medicine (don't forget tylenol for yourself), diapers and a change of clothes in. Then get like the carry-on size suitcase and keep a DVD player (you'll need another battery) and movies in it. Also in that bag, go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of little toys, take them home and wrap them, just in newspaper or something easy, and keep them in there. You can open them one by one try to space them out and the kids usually get as much of a kick out of the opening and packaging as they do out of the actual toys. One thing that has worked well for me on trips are those nesting cups that you can get almost anywhere. Make sure you have something food wise for them to suck on or a pacifier if they take them to help their ears pop on the way up and down. Get some Ocean or the Little Noses saline to take, sometimes if their ears won't pop and they're too upset to suck or chew on something if you give a quick spray of two of a nose spray that will relieve the pressure and make them pop, sounds weird but all that stuff's connected. Give the three year old a little back pack or fanny pack to put a few special things in to be in charge of. That's all I can think of right now. We flew a year ago for Christmas to Seattle with a 4 y/o a 2 y/o and twin 8mo olds as lap babies. That was only a fourish hour flight, I do not envy you this trip, even to get to go to Europe. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
