Ok ladies, I cant seem to get anywhere with this one, maybe someone else can help me. We moved into far East Dallas, area about 5 months ago. Well, I now need a daycare and can't see to find anything, and when I say anything, I mean anything or any place that I would leave my child for any length of time. I am looking for full time care, with an organized curriculum, progress reports given daily, stable teachers, low child to teacher ratio, and activities on site. My daughter is 2 1/2, and potty trained. Can anyone recommend a facilities that would fit most if not all of these? Please help me. I have an opportunity to accept a great position with excellent benefits. HELP. They want an answer by Monday morning.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, after looking for a daycare convenient to my commute, to work and home, I settled on a center across the street from my old high school. Thank you to everyone that responded to my request.

I can give you a long list of No's...

We lived down there for years and experienced the same exact problem (and moved to Plano as a result).

I found my #1 choice to be First United Methodist HP. Also, despite it's somewhat rough-looking exterior, East Dallas Developmental Center (on Skillman) was high on my list. Another good choice is Wilshire Baptist (Mockingbird/Abrams).

If you have questions, feel free to PM me directly. I think I looked at every option there is...

Hi, K.. I used to live near White Rock Lake and I taught preschool music at several day care centers in that area. Some of them were okay, some were not where I would put my child. There were only a small handful of centers I would highly recommend.

Dallas Day School
4242 Office Parkway (in East Dallas but closer to downtown)

Children's Center located behind St. Bernard in Little Forest Hills.

Wilshire Baptist Church is great (my church) but theirs is a Mother's Day Out program, not full time care. They only have half-day care and only 3 days per week.

First Presbyterian Day School located in Downtown Dallas is very good. Also, First Baptist downtown.

Have you tried Baby Steps on Pevey Road? I don't know exactly where in Far East Dallas you are looking. Other ideas are Lake Highlands Christian Enrichment Development Center and the Presbytian Church on NWH and Audelia. I haven't had my daughter in any of these places, but I have looked into them. You'll probably have to get on a wait list, though.

Hi K.,

Not sure if you are open to childcare in Mesquite, but my twin 3 year olds go to Little Rascals, they have two locations. One location on 80 and Galloway in Mesquite and the other location is near Town East Mall in Mesquite. The owners are wonderful and I have no problem leaving my boys there. They do a great job, their phone number is: ###-###-####. Good Luck! K. Brandon x331
