I had it on out tv stand and i took it off awhile ago and can't remember from that point on. I have checked all the places that i would put important papers. Nothing. I can't think period. my 2 children are sick at up way before they need to be and won't go to bed until late. My mind is fried. need someone elses head that could think maybe someplace that i didn't look.

You can request a duplicate title from the DMV if you can't find it. Go to http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/title/default.html

I think it costs $20 or something, so if you just can't find it, don't totally stress out. Just order a new one.
Good luck finding it!

Stop stressing (at least about this) - you can request another copy from the DMV for about $10 - so worth the price if its one less thing you have to think about.

Hi K.,
I'm pretty sure you can go online and order another one. My husband couldn't find his and that's what he did. Don't worry and just try and get another one.
Good Luck.

K.,
Do you absolutely need the title now? You know things are harder to find when you have a clock ticking. Think out of the box and retrace your steps.
YOU control your kids not the other way around. (I'm assuming they're very young, best time to set habits). If you have a bedtime routine (which by the way includes an early bedtime) then you can get so much more accomplished in peace and quiet.
You are not going crazy nor is your mind fried...Try reorganizing your schedules and routines and BREATHE.
J. S
P.S. Oops, sorry, didn't realise that your kids were ill. that definately adds to the stress when they want more attention. Just apply for a new title. An extra copy wouldn't hurt.

Relax it's really not that big of a deal.. it can be replace. The state can issue another one. it'll cost you a few bucks and take about 2 weeks. Call the DMV and see what they can do for you. Good luck.

Have you checked the microwave? :D

While looking around the house, I always say; "Saint Anthony, St. Anthony, please come around..... something is lost and must be found!" This works every time for me. Saint Anthony never lets me down. Good luck!

(I also always emphisize the words 'please' & 'must' while saying the prayer!) :)

Dont stress, go to dmv and get a new one. Then buy yourself a file box and put all your important papers in there. Birth certificates, marriage license, immunizations, insurance papers, these are all things that should be in a safe and easy to get to place.

Hi K.,
Call the DMV or look on their website to see if you can find the forms to apply for a replacement. The other thing I'd do is check the glovebox of your car - if I couldn't find mine, that's where I would look
Good luck!

I can relate the only bad thing about me is when I am straightening up I have a tendency to throw things out because I hate clutter. I have thrown out paychecks, and many important documents. Don't panic you can always get another I know because I lost mine as well. I think my husband contacted the DMV and they told us how to get a new one. I have since invested in a file cabinet and my family knows if its not put away in its proper place it may end up in the trash. Good luck like one poster said if you don't need it right away just relax and maybe it will come to you.

Hi K.: You can take the vin number off the registration and go to DMV. There is a cost, but you should be able to get a duplicate from them. Good luck.

You poor thing. I go crazy myself when i cant find important stuff. First i would try what the other ladies suggested and see about getting a replacement. In the mean time, here are the places i would look.
1. in a jacket pocket
2. in an old purse you may have been using at the time.
3. in a basket where you might throw misc. stuff
4. in a pile of newspapers you might be collecting for recycling
5 wedged in the pages of a magazine
6. the refrigerator...seriously

Good luck and i hope your kids start feeling better

I agree with Donna about St Anthony...seems to always work. Check the refrigerator, microwave, inside recent childrens books - all over the childrens room. Diaper or tote bags you may have recently used? your pocket book? The bathroom or a linen closet? The kitchen cabinets? The laundry room - the laundry piles itself? Near the computer? Mixed up in the bed? Under the bed? Under the couch? I lose things ALL the time!!! From one minute to the next too - SO ANNOYING!

While stressed, the item can be right in sight but you can't see it. The best way to find something in the house in a stressed state, is to stop looking for it.

Also what has worked for me is to ask a close friend or realitive to come in to look for it....one room at a time.

.....and finally most things show up after they are replaced so call the DMV.

1. Try looking in the AM with a clear head.
2. Try behind or under the TV stand.
3. Try looking near the car keys.
4. Check the trash.

I've been there and done that a lot, it will probably turn up!

Did you accidentally throw it into the garbage? Or, maybe you dropped it, and it is wedged in some ridiculous place like between furniture and a wall?

Hi K.,

Take a deep breath. Unless you need the title immediatly stop searching for a day or two and maybe it'll show up. If you do need it right away, you can get a replacement from the DMV. If your purchasing a car and need it for the trade-in, the dealership will be able to help you. There is a fee for the replacement.

Some places you could try looking...
In the recyclable paper bin
In or with the old tv guide
Under/behind the couch or other furniture
Did it get used as a bookmark

Good luck

Instead of stressing over it, if you need it, just apply
for a new one. If not, you and I both know,, it will show
up eventually! I find that any lost article always
magically appears when I am not looking.

Hi K.
Sorry that the kids are sick!!! Hope they are feeling better soon and only have something that the MD can say take this and all will be fine.
Now, I see from your question that you are desperate but relax, all people can think better when they are not so stressed. Take a deep breath and begin again. Chances are you overlooked it in your haste, and stress.
Since I am old enough to be your mom, have you talked to yours?
God bless you and give you peace
