Hi!
Have you considered making it for him? I use 3 parts cornstarch 1 part baking soda and it works great. It can also be applied to smelly feet. I put it on using a kabuki brush.
Good luck!

Wondering what kind of deoderant you guys are using for your son? I see a lot for young girls, but nothing for young boys.
Thanks!
I thought 7 was young also, but we have been having him shower every night and when he gets home from school he is STINKY!

Arm & Hammer "Essentials" Natural Deodorant.
It contains no aluminum nor parabens.
My 7 year old daughter uses this.
It is not a "girl" deodorant... but for anyone.
It does not smell "girly."
All the best,
Susan
You can check out www.lush.com for all natural deodorants for your son. Some have a heavy scent, some light. I got a deodorant bar for myself that I used when I was pregnant, and it worked great.
My son (7) uses Toms of Maine. I think the O. I picked up is "honeysuckle" but I promise he doesn't smell flowery! LOL
Tom's makes some nice scents. We like Calendula and Lemongrass.
Try Tom's of Maine. They have an unscented version, and the lemongrass is what my husband enjoys. It is aluminum free.
My son has been using deorderant since he was 5. If he showers everyday and still smells, then I think it's fine for a boy/girl to use it. My son, now 8 is a sweater. When he gets together with kids, like at gymtime or with playdate and if they play hard and run around he is sopping wet, hair dripping sweat. I think he inherited it from me, since I am like that. Anyway, back to your question, my son has been using AXE. He loves it because that's what his dads using, and he loves the smell. Take him with you shoppping and have him pick one out that he likes, no matter what brand you go with. If he doesn't like the smell, he won't want to use it.
I just let my son pick one out that he thought looked cool. I think that you are supposed to be sure it is a deoderant but NOT an antipersperant for younger kids. You may want to check that out though.
BTW - my son got some when he was 6 for the same reason. he DID think it was really cool, though, since he knew that Daddy uses it, too :)
I agree with Toms of Maine. I found some 'boy' scents at Kroger and at CVS. My husband uses Speed Stick. That's also just a deoderant... Not an anti-perspirant. My 7yr old daughter uses the Toms of Maine in the Apricot scent.
Each child is different and as you know each person that god makes is different in all ways. Some have oily skin some have dry hair and skin some have medium. So for your sone to belike this at 7 is more than normal my daughter is high in oily hair and skin she has been wearing deorderant since she was 6. she washes her hair 2 times a day and she showers daily and washes her face twice a day. SHe still is oily she is 10 now and she is more into herself to be cleaner and less oily. To answer your ? I would just use whatever your using but in a mems deorderant or what your husband uses. Now I have been changing mine too everytime i find one i like they either stop making it or carring it. So I right now am using degree and my husband uses it too we use to use right guard but they have changed there formula it doesn't work as well we find also when we vacation where there is well water degree works better too. Good luck on your decision!
Hi,
I haven't read any posts so I may be repeating. My son started using deodorant when he was 7. I wanted something gentle since he was so young, so I buy: Arm & Hammer parabin & aluminum free natural scent. Which worked wonderfully until he turned 11. I find that the Arm & Hammer wears off by the end of the day and he is now beginning to need something a little stronger. I am now looking into something natural and gentle until he starts buying it himself :)
Hope this helps!
HI R.,
I would try using an anti-bacterial soap like Dial. My son is like yours, stinky at the end of the day. lol We switched to Dial anti-bacterial soap, they have some great scents too. We all use that soap now, with no problems. I would try that first.
deoderant for a 7 year old? first time i've heard it for that young a kid...i have a 7 year old and don't make her wear deoderant yet...guess it wouldn't hurt
Check out the Cosmetics Database (see link below). For someone that age I would take extra care to choose a product that is less toxic. A lot off deoderants have nasty ingredients.
Some good choices that are easy to find:
- Speed Stick Unscented Antiperspirant Deodorant
- Mitchum Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant, Clear Gel, Unscented
- Mitchum Roll-On Antiperspirant & Deodorant, Unscented
- Almay Solid Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant, Fragrance Free
- Arm & Hammer Ultramax Antiperspirant & Deodorant, Invisible Solid Wide Stick
