I just had my daughter at Presby Denton in July and was very pleased with the facility and staff. It has been recently renovated so that there is a whole building devoted to women's services. I do use Dr. Cummings, but I have always heard wonderful things about him. My OB/Gyn is Marc Wilson (has delivered 2 of my babies now), and I think he is just wonderful. The staff there is really great as well. His office is located on Bonnie Brae in front of the Presby Center for Women. His number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps.

I LOVE Dr. Cummings... My husband and I had been trying for our 3rd for a long time (almost 2 yrs) and we knew we wanted a natural delivery and a more natural approach to our prenatal care.. we ended up learning more about midwifes and decided to go that route... however, I got pregnant and found out I was going to miscarry but my body had not started the process on it's own yet... I had lots of people suggest Dr. Cummings and I was scared to go see a new Dr. especially going through what I was going through, but I knew my previous OB was NOT supportive of natural choices... So I bit the bullet and went to see Dr. Cummings and my husband and I were MORE than impressed with him.. he listened to our concerns and told us our options without being pushy and was VERY compassionate about our feelings.. he let me cry in his office and he didn't just get up and leave me, he gave me a hug, patted my leg sincerely and told me he believed as soon as a woman finds out she is pregnant she begins to bond, so it is hard to loose the pg no mattter what stage you are in... that made me feel so good that he "understood" what I was feeling. I am just telling you this story so that you can see how compassionate he is... I have other friends who had problems and their OB's blew them off and treated it like an illness... he doesn't. He even didn't make me wait (we chose the surgery) and said he would work around me and did it within just a few hours so we could have closure. At my follow up appt. I asked him what his views were on natural childbirth and homebirths with a midwife.. he was very supportive of it and joked that he is one of the few that does support home births (in a healthy pg with a skilled midwife) and said if I ever needed him again we could use him as backup! I am now 21 wks pg and it is going wonderful... I feel very blessed to have a midwife and Dr. Cummings if I need him.

We also stopped at a Dairy Queen on our way back from camping a few months ago and the ladies behind me were talking about Dr. Cummings... so he is quite popular around here! I havn't used him as full OB care.. but the people I know who have love him.

Denton Presby is where we had our surgery and I will only go back to that hospital for now on.. they were very supportive too before, during and after the surgery and the financial coordinators are great to work with your budget and not pressure you. I think most of the DOulas around here really like births at Denton Presby...some of the local midwifes use it as back up so they are supportive to natural choices!

Good luck!!! and Congrats on the new baby!!! I hope you have a very happy and healthy *9* months!

I didn't see Dr. Cummings but used Dr. Marc Wilson who used to be in the same office. I loved him!!
I agree with the other mom, I have never heard anything bad about Dr. Cummings.
My son was born at Presbyterian hospital because Dr. Wilson and our doula preferred it over Denton Regional. We had a wonderful experience! They let me move around, use the birth ball, anything I needed....Our doula really took charge so the nurses just left us alone and let us get the job done! :)
Afterwards, I think I received excellent care during my recovery stay. The nurses were all helpful and so cheerful. They seemed like old friends I had known forever instead of strangers I just met in the middle of the night.

Love Dr. Cummings,

He delivered my first and I delivered naturaly. He actually prefers that method if at all possible and when I finally did holler for medicine because I was in pain he let me wait and before I knew it my baby was born. He actually prefers natural childbirth with little medical intervention when the health of the baby is not in jeapordy because we had that conversation and he admitted he was old fashioned. I delivered at Denton Presby and had a great experience. I think you will be happy with Dr. Cummings. I am expecting my 2nd Dec. 5th and he will deliver this one as well. Good Luck!
