Sounds so cute & original too. I Don't have any real ideas but definitely hang a pink cowgirl hat up. Have fun.

Horseshoes, ropes, cowboy and girl hats, horses, fencing are a few things that come to mind. Some could painted on the walls- ropes, fence, horses. Horseshoes or hats with their names could be hung on the walls. If you are interested in a mural, maybe a cowgirl and boy on horseback roping a couple of cows.

Sounds like it will be a fun decorating project!

A beach room is always unisex. You can do beach mural, surfboards, grass curtains, hang fishing nets. I painted a bathroom blue and made swirls in the paint like water. I bought wallies (wall paper cut outs) and a wall paper boarder and cut out more fish. You wet them & stick them on the wall. I also painted some sea weed and coral. This is simple and cute and unisex:)

Girls love horses, and boys won't find them too "girly," so I'd go with lots of horses. Blue, red and brown are a good color scheme. Denim and bandanas are tough enough fabrics to stand up to kids, and they look great with western styling.

I did a barn theme in the first nursery.
Paint the whole room white.
Mark off the bottom third with blue painters tape
Every three inches put a one inch piece of tape from the floor to the blue painters tape
Sponge red over the entire lower area
remove tape
INstant barn with planks
For the middle I found a barnyard border
Above the barnyard border I painted black cow spots randomly all over, I even dipped the baby's feet in black paint and had her step on the wall

Or get brown/gold paint
Paint the whole room
put up rough shelves and hang "western" things in room,
lasso
lantern
Hang cowboy hats and put boots on shelf
horses on the shelf
Get a western border and put either third way up or on top by ceiling
Get red, blue, black, yellow paint and paint a plaid pattern under border.
Get neckerchiefs and make a quilt out of them, or there might be one already, google that, get one in red and blue.

Have fun!! I love decorating rooms.

With toy story 3 just coming out there are tons of those Woody and the Girl and the Horse dolls for sale. I think they are so cute!

Also in the toy story movies Andy's room is western themed. Maybe watch the movie with your kids to get some ideas?

Try the "Toy Story" collection. It has bright colors and lots of characters. I think both kids will like it.

use the americana colors. My friend did this. it was really cute. fun and they don't outgrow it fast either. the rusty/burgandy red, navy blue and off-white. you can probably find tin stars any where especially in the outdoors section and you can paint them in these colors. Same thing for the bedding. Patchwork in these colors. have fun. I think it will be cute.
