Hi K.,

My family and I have always enjoyed the "blue park," Friendship Place, in Berlin. It is located at Willard Elementary School on Norton Road. It is part of the "Boundless Playgrounds" project (www.boundlessplaygrounds.org)which includes accomodations for children with differing abilities.

In New Britain itself, the playground at Stanley Quarter Park has always been fun. My sister and I used to play there as little girls and I still take my kids there today from time to time. Also if you guys get the urge, Stanley Quarter has a path which winds around the pond. You can always take a break and stroll her around the water to look at the ducks, frogs, etc.

Feel free to bring your baby over any time, too, if you'd like some company; my sons (2 and 4) are always looking for playmates :)

Hi K.. I have a 5 and 2 year old and I like DiLoretto's playground. The kids have a blast there. There is also a playground in Kensington that is not too far. It's called People's Playground and it is all fenced in so the kids can't escape.

We always go to Paderewski Park, in Plainville. It is right off of rt 372 (coming from New Britain you would turn right onto Cooke St, by Citgo and J Timothy's.) It has a wading pool and baby swings...the play ground it self is geared toward older kids but I have been taking my two year old there since he was 1. PLus he loves to just run around the baseball and soccer fields.
The Wheeler School playground is near by and I also like to take my son there.

Are you willing to travel outside of New Britain? There's a great park in Bristol called Page park. It's on King Street across from Bristol Eastern High school.
