Good Evening Ladies,

My family will be moving to the Bent Tree area (near Frankford and North Dallas Tollway) of Dallas soon. I am hoping you ladies can help me to locate child care for my two and three year olds. I have done a bit of research already. Does anyone have any information (good or bad) on Bent Tree Day School or Bent Tree Child Development Center?

I also welcome any recommendations for center based care in this area. Thanks for your help!

C.,

Both of my children have been attending Bent Tree Child Development School since they were 2 & 18 months. They are now 4 1/2 & 2 1/2 years old. As you can see, my husband and I have been pleased with this school and the director of the school. I have great communication with the teachers, but I also make it quite a priority to do so. Also, they sign their teachers to a yearly contract (just like public) in order to avoid turn over. They are extremely close group of people and they are supported by the owner Marilyn. My husband and I are quite active in the school by attending meetings and attending class parties. In fact, my 4 1/2 year old will probably attend Bent Tree for Kindergarten and we live in Allen. I can go on about the school, but I've been happy with them. I visited other day cares/preschools before choosing Bent Tree and I was pleased by the set up of their school and the detail responsibility of the teachers. Of course, you will always have some issues, but you can always speak your mind and let them know on what you want something handled and so forth. They know to call me immediately if my children are sick and so forth.

I can go on, but we've been pleased with them. Not sure on how many "bad" comments you will have from others.

Take Care and Good Luck. By the way, I checked out the Bent Tree Day school and was not impressed. First, the front desk was too concern on getting lunch for the staff and they couldn't walk me around the school at the time. Plus, they work from work books which you will have to purchase. Bent Tree Child Development use the "learn & play" as part of their curriculm.

I definetly recommend Bent Tree Child Development Center hands down over Bent Tree Day School. Bent Tree CDC has a great preschool program with low teacher/student ratios. For example in Level II their are only 8 children per teacher in a class. They do not combine ratios or classes with two teachers. This gives the teacher a chance to really interact with the children and do more activities and learning. They have circle time every morning where 2 and 3 year olds learn the days of the week and what the weather is and how everyone is doing. My 2 1/2 year old goes their and has since he was 18 months old. He just loves it and he can't wait to go every morning. Good Luck on your search, in my opinion Bent Tree CDC is the best program in the area so check them out. Donna Buss is the director.

My daughter is 2 years old and just started going to Bent Tree Child Development Center in January. She is in level one because her birthday is in Jan. Your child needs to be 2 by September in order to go to the next level. I really like the fact that the ratio in the level I class is 1:6. The teachers are very nice and I like the fact that they have degrees. They do transition the kids from one teacher to another during the day. At first my daughter had a really hard time with that because she was used to only being with one teacher. I really like all of the level I teachers so I don't have a problem with her being moved. I think since she knows them all now, she has adjusted. I would recommend you visit during the day so you can see how the teachers interact with the children.
