I am a dad of a 14-month-old (if this site is strictly for moms, I will take myself off the list--and sorry to intrude!) looking for day care. We recently moved to the Barrington area, and I am hoping to find a good part-time (10-15 hrs.) provider starting in January.
If anyone has any suggestions, especially along Rand Road or Northwest Highway, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I live in Fox River grove and we recently signed up our daughter for preschool at Bright Horizons in Deer Park. They also take babies, their rates are for full days - although you can pick up your child early if you like. You might also want to check out the KinderCare centers.

Good luck. It is really hard to find part time day care. Most facilities want more than a few days a week b/c babies can't share beds. Check for local home day care providers. You should be able to get that info from the YWCA. Look in the phone book under child care or day care, there is a number in there.
Hi T., I'm not a great referrence since we just moved here but I had a similar question and someone referred me to a site called sittercity.com. I checked it out, it seems ok but does cost $40 to join so I didn't do that.
Anyway, hope this gives you a little option.

I know there is an in-home daycare right on Barrington Road (hough) in Barrington. It is on the west side of the road I think just north of where barrington and Dundee split. I had posted an ad in St. Anne's church bullitin for somone to do daycare in my home (I have a 5 month old), and she called me to see if I would be interested in her home. Unfortunately, she needs all the kids to be picked up by 5:00 which didn't work for me.
I think she watches about 5-8 kids. I don't know if she does part time, but she wanted around $300 for Mon- Fri I think. Unfortunatley I don't still have her number, but last time I drove by she had a banner up on her house. Her name is Marilyn and I think her last name is LaFluer or something that sounds like that!! Sorry I can't be more specific. If you're comfortable giving me your e-mail address I can write you back if I find the number or when I drive by and see her banner if you can't find it.
