D..
Take her to the doctor. There are too many questions here. I would get her in tomorrow and not send her to camp - this is important.
Dawn
So my 6yo came home from camp and ran to the bathroom to pee. I asked if she had gone today and she said no (all day like 9 hours). She said it burned when she peed there was blood when she wiped . Now the urine in the toilet had no blood. Just the paper. And her undies had some blood too. When I made her wipe again it seemed like the blood came from her external vagina. I asked over and over if anyone looked at or touched her private and she keeps saying no. She did say that she touched it herself a bit. She told.me that wad outside at camp when she had to pop a bubble (air).
I don't want to go overboard but what do you guys think? Could it just be an infection? I don't get any kinds of vaginal infection s so I am not sure how to react.

Did you look... at her privates to see if there was a cut on the skin or something? Since you said it appeared to come from her external vagina.... so did you look there to see if you saw open/cut/irritated skin?
Take her to the Doc.
Could be a UTI.
ALSO, save that panty, and to show the Doctor.
Don't scare her. It could be anything and don't assume the worst.
First thing to my mind is UTI since she's not pee'd all day.
Secondly is she was active and the hymen broke, no big deal it happens all the time.
Call your pedi and go with your Dr's advice.
Please don't quiz your daughter nonstop and make her feel as though she did something wrong. She needs to know that she can come to you, confide in you and be ok. Don't mess that up.
If it burns when she pees, then have her go in for a UTI (urinary tract infection) test immediately. There can be blood present, and then no blood. This is worth the trip to the doctor. Lay off soda pop, sugars and chocolate/caffeine, as these can make symptoms worsen. (The bacteria in the urinary tract or bladder feeds on sugar, so if you do cranberry juice, it needs to be the unsweetened kind. And do not give an OTC pain reliever like AZO for this, as it will possibly mask the urine test.)
If it's not this: Did she ride horses or do some gymnastics during camp? Sometimes, this sort of activity can tear the hymen.
I wouldn't question her repeatedly. This will likely freak her out a bit. Instead, try to find out from the camp counselors and your daughter what has been going on activity-wise. This could also be another reason for the burning-- urine passing over a tear will hurt.
If it burned, she could have a urinary infection. As far as her being touched, asking her over and over will not get you anywhere. Kids who are touched, are conditioned to be terrified of saying anything. I would take her to the doctor as soon as you can, get her tested for an infection, and have her doctor ask her about any inappropriate touching.
Take her to the doctor for an exam - don't wait a month like this other mom did on here. Could be UTI, could be she somehow fell and might have hurt herself, although I would think she or they would have informed you. Don't keep questioning her and getting her all upset or start questioning the staff - just go get her checked out!
I agree with the UTI assessment (urinary tract infection). She probably won't make it until tomorrow for antibiotics. Start her drinking PURE cranberry juice as soon as you can get it. Even better, the active ingredient in cranberry juice that clears UTI's is called D-Mannose--you can get it at health food stores. Give her like ten an hour and that will take care of it. If it doesn't fix it (it's always worked for me, but may not work for everyone) then she will need anti-biotics--make sure she also gets a probiotic!!
Good luck!

it sounds like a UTI to me. I get them way too often and most of the time there is blood. Sorry, TMI! Take her to the dr's for some antibiotics asap! You don't want it to turn into a kidney infection
I would take her to the doctor tomorrow morning. The doctor might do an internal examination, and probably a urine culture to check for a UTI.
I've done that when I had a UTI, so has my daughter. And I had no symptoms until my back started hurting and I saw the blood. The doctor was shocked I hadn't had any other symptoms since my kidneys were already affected.
sounds just like a UTI take her to the doc tomorrow for antibiotics.
Does your ped have an after hours nurse line or answering service? I would call them tonight and explain the situation. As others have pointed out, I am sure it is probably innocent, but have it checked out as soon as possible. Your doctor may want you to take her to an urgent care. Good luck and I hope she feels better soon!

I'd look at it and see if you see anything.
Neosporine it for tonight and if she's having trouble in the AM go see the doc.
UTI's can be pretty popular in little girls if the don't practice wiping front to back.
I slid down a banister as a child (because it looked like fun on the cartoons, right?)... it was a metal hand rail banister. It HURT. I didn't tell my mom or anybody. It was embarrassing. It could have easily "cut" me so that there was some blood. I don't remember there being any blood, but I can easily see how there could have been. And nothing "untoward" happened... I just did something foolish.
I wouldn't scare her. It is probably a UTI. It fits the symptoms, she didn't pee all day and it hurts when she pees. The other thing, is she could have had an injury where her hyman was injured if she sat the wrong way hard on something. It is very common for little girls. Don't jump to conclusions and take her to the doctor for an exam.
Take her to the doctor. Stay in the room and let them exam her. They will be able to tell what type of injury, infection, or other condition she may have.
