O.k. Im gonna try and make this as short as possible lol. My daughter is 11 months old... she started holding her arms bent when she was about 3 months old. As she gets older she does it less and less! She is meeting all her milestones. She held her head up from day 1 lol, sat up @ 7 months, crawled, stood, and walked before 10 months! The ONLY thing she won't do is hold her bottle! Soooo I googled this and it said CEREBRAL PALSY! I got so scared! I mean she has total movement in ALL her limbs it's just sometimes she holds her arms up. She plays, claps, reaches for things, holds toys, she is completely normal... Am I worrying too much? If there is anyone that has dealt with this please respond!

What can I do next?

Lots of kids don't want to hold a bottle, so if that's all that's worrying you, please relax. When moms are very busy all the time, babies learn to hold their bottles out of necessity. If you have time to sit down, relax, and feed her, why should she do it herself? Believe me, if she had cerebral palsy, she wouldn't be walking at 10 months!

My only advice is to quit Googling every single thing your kid does or doesn't do.
Arms straight, arms bent, blinks too much or not enough, rolls over sometimes when she's sitting, falls when she's trying to walk.
She won't hold her bottle so you think she has cerebral palsy?
Don't do that to yourself.
Everything you say describes a perfectly normal and happy child.
Be thankful. Get regular check ups with the pediatrician and quit Googling.

This is something you need to talk to your doctor about... not a site like this.
If you are truly concerned then let the pros check her out.
Seems like she is doing all things normally and you shouldn't scare yourself too much.
Take a deep breath and at her year check up talk to your doc about it. If you don't feel like they are taking your concerns seriously, find a new doc

quit scaring yourself! Put that bottle/cup down in front of her....& stand firm! Don't pick it up & when she really wants it, she'll grab it. At eleven months, she should be able to self-feed with finger foods.....if she's not, then get her started asap! This will aid in grabbing that bottle!

Before I had a child I did the google to "help" a friend of mine try and determine what was going on with her son. Autism came up and I just blabbed that to her like it was nothing. I didn't stop and think how a mom would process getting a diagnosis off the internet!! Man, I still kick myself for that.
The point of my story - you're right - google and all of the other "conveniences" we have for researching medical phenomenon need to be balanced by what your doctor is telling you.
Best of luck, I know you're just trying to understand your daughter. :)
PS. He doesn't have autism, doesn't have any diagnosis of anything....

My niece NEVER held her own bottle. I think she was to lazy :). But seriously, if you were a baby would you rather have someone do it for you or do it yourself. Have you tried setting it on the floor beside her while she is playing to see if she could or would try? or do you just give it to her for her to try. My daughter was older also i think when she first held her bottle. and as far as your other post and the person saying that she should still be crawling. don't listen. my son was walking at 8mos. he crawled for about 1.5mos. he has absolutley NO problems and never has. children develop at different rates. my brother and sisters and i all walked at 9mos. my daughter walked at 1yr. we never had problems.

My healthy 5.5 year old son NEVER held his bottle or sippy cup. Just after he turned 1 I switched to a straw cup and voila....I no longer had to chase him around asking if he needed a drink. Don't drive yourself crazy, just mention your concern at her 1 year appointment. It sounds like she is fine-like in my case, my son was just lazy. My second child-now 2 held his bottle from 6 or 7 months. They are all so different!

It may be a balance thing for her.
Having one symptom of something does not mean a diagnosis of that something.
You really need to calm down. Ask your ped . He/she will prob tell you that it's just her thing. Just something she does. If you're ped hasn't said anything about it thus far she's prob perfectly fine.
