We were considering visiting the Dallas World Aquarium today, but we have so much stuff to do, so I'm torn. It is pricey and a little bit of a drive, but is it worth it? I have heard from a couple people that it was really fun and the kids loved it. What have been your experiences with it? How old were your kids? How long does it take to see the aquarium? If we don't go today, we are definitely planning on it one day while we in in the DFW area.

I love it, and so do my boys! I've taken them since they were very young (in a stroller), and they have always enjoyed it. Now they are 6 and 12 and it is still a favorite place to go. It is expensive, but I think it's worth the money. Have a great time if you get to go!
I disagree. My children are 3 and 6, and both LOVE it, ESPECIALLY my three-year-old! They have exciting 'shows' at different exhibits, and we just thoroughly enjoy it every time we go. You should definitely go. We spend about 2-3 hours there when we go.
It is a great place, but I think it is for older kids. You don't say how old your children are, but I think they would need to be at least 5 years old or older to really enjoy it.
I think it took us about 1-2 hours to see everything. It depends if your children really like watching certain creatures and how long they want to watch them. :)

I really enjoy going there! We first took our daughter when she was a year and a half. She loved looking at the fish!!! I have also taken kiddos there on a field trip. Enjoy if you do go today!
I totally agree with the other mom. It's not for younger kids.

We love the World Aquarium. My boys enjoyed going there during elementary and middle school. My neice and nephew also liked going there.

I am currently pregnant with my first child, so I haven't had the joy of taking my kids there yet. However, I grew up in Dallas and went to it numerous times growing up, from about 7 all the way through high school. I LOVE IT! I still do! I had taken an ex-boyfriend one time in college and we had a great time! I highly recommend it. I do agree that the kids will probably get even MORE out of it if they are a little older (like at least 5), but they will still probably enjoy it if they are younger. You are right about the price and the drive, but it is really worth it. You can spend a good deal of time in there seeing everything.
