So I am all for daycare and I love what they have done for my kids they love my kids and they love them, but since I am no longer workin just going to school, I have the option to go at night. Currently Ian going during the day and my kids are in daycare... But 170 a week is just to much seeing as how I lost my daycare assistance. So I am switching to night classes from 6-11 and will be home with my kids during the day mon - fri... Our weekends are already pretty full from dance and gymnastics, and church and it seems like we have a birthday party every weekend... But my question is beside normal activities... What are some cool new ideas to do during the week. My kids are 2 1/2 and 3 1/2.... Any suggestions would be nice... Sorry if there are some mispelled words and some things you can't understand I am on my iPod touch... Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

ThaNow monkeyzmom those are some good ideas... My kids love chalk and bubbles also, so we will defiantly be playing in the yard and going to the park... And s.h..... I'm really not sure what your comment had to do with my post... I do have a husband, he does help... Willingly and I will have time to study, but thanks anyway I guess... But yes do believe imagining my children... Buuuuut.... I don't do that often because they learned early and they don't do alot of things, like break things, touch stuff they know not to, talk back.. So in and so forth... But it's all good... My kids are in a good spot right now... They are both fully potty trained. Know alot. So we will be pretty good :)

So, when will you study?????????
That takes up a lot of time.
I know, my Husband goes to school and works.
All his 'extra' time, is spent studying. It is demanding.
If you are with your kids all day and doing their activities, and go to school at night... WHEN will you study??? And who will watch your kids when you are studying... either at home or at school????

Is there a Husband around?
He WILL... have to help. Keeping up grades, are crucial. And having study time that is UNinterrupted.

Going to school, is not a cake walk.
My Husband spends all his 'free' time, weekdays and weekends, studying. Has to. It is important, and keeping up his GPA.
I am like a Single Parent, since he goes to school.

As far as studying goes, you can study while they have some quiet play time or naps, depending on which they tolerate better. Very easy.

Fun stuff...well, you can make anything fun for children that age. Make them a worksheet by dividing a piece of paper into eight boxes, and have them color each box a different color. Then take them out for a walk (if you have a double stroller) and they get to draw a little picture (smiley, triangle, square, whatever you want them to practice) in the right color box every time they spot something new for each color on their sheet. Buy them clipboards for this...and then they can also take a few crayons and color/draw pictures of what they see. A ream of paper goes a long way (well...we buy a LOT of paper) for young children.

I have made a million variations of this game, and I love it because I get my exercise, they get fresh air, Vit. D, and a great lesson.

teach them! L. ones love to learn... get coloring books and practice their colors and shapes. even L. guys can learn abc's and 123's! my son will be 2 next month and can count to 3. doesnt seem lke a lot, but i think thats pretty darn good!

we also go to the park every weekday at the same time. he know thats when you can get out all your energy. i take him about 2 hours before nap time, play for about 1-1.5 hour, go home for lunch, then straight to nap time. routine is great for us, he knows what coming next and likes to know when its time to play with crayons, or outside, or read books, whatever it may be!

a L. tv time never hurt anyone in my opinion. i usually let him watch mickey mouse in the mornings :)

I have a 16 month old and a newly 3 year old. During the day we do things like coloring, going over our colors, ABC's, Numbers. I try to think of creative ways to do this since my son doesn't sit still much so we pull out his fav race cars and classify them in colors or when we are cleaning up we count the pillows as we put them back on to the couch. Outside we do sidewalk chalk, play in the rocks, throw or kick a ball around. When Im feeling energetic lol I turn music on and we all dance around the house, it gets pretty interesting with my young kids and usually leaves me laughing! Books, puzzles, cars, baby dolls..... don't worry your kids will pretty much let you know what they want to do!! :)

Look at orientaltrading.com they have some craft stuff. Or walmart or something. Get some sidewalk chalk, its usually in the $1 section at the front of Target... my 2 1/2 yr old LOVES sidewalk chalk. Do you rent/live in a house? My daughter loves to go outside... we go on walks every day. A couple times a week, depending on redbox and if they have good movies, I rent a kids cartoon movie and we watch it together (we just rented and watched Tangled yesterday together). Do you have a park near you? I might as well live at the park lol. Coloring books for the 3 1/2 yr old, your youngest will love to color too. Go to barnes and noble and get the brain flashcards, they are pretty cheap when I got them. They have Max the monkey on them for 2-3 year olds... my daughter LOVES looking at them and talking about the pictures and she's learning (win-win lol). There is so much stuff you can do. My daughter loves bubbles, they sell bubble stuff for $1-$2 at walmart or the dollar store... the dollar store has some cute craft stuff too.

Totally agree with SH, I go to school and trust me lol you can't study with kids around no matter how you try to occupy them.

Check out your local library for story times. My kiddos love them...usually involves a few songs, stories related to theme of the week, and a small craft. I'm sure all libraries vary, but it's fun, educational, and free :)

Enjoy being at home with your little ones!!!! Now with the warmer weather, spend lots of time outdoors doing bubbles, kick ball, chalk, paints, picnic at the park, etc.
