For me a pro-biotic works pretty much like a laxative.
I can't take a pro-biotic every day.
Every 2 or 3 days is enough for me.
In moderation it's ok, but you don't want to over do it.
Anyone take a probiotic on a regular basis? What are the benefits and/or negatives? And, do any adults use the gummy probiotics? I found one made by Sustenex.

The typical american diet does not provide enough probiotics on a daily basis. I have no digestive issues but I take Bio-Kult probiotic everyday.
I use Kyo-dophilis probiotics by Kyolic. My nutritionist many years ago put me on these because of my digestive issues and I've been using them daily ever since. Best to take on an empty stomach, first thing in the AM before breakfast. You can find them at any health food store, Whole Foods or online.

I do not take any pills, but I do have either a yougurt (CHobani) or yogurt drink (Lifeway Kefir) every day which contain probiotics. It has definitly helped my digestive issues...
My friend that is a natural health advisor, says that Jarro-Dophilus EPS probiotics are great for you. So, I use them.. I get them at either Whole Foods or the vitamin store :)
My friend says that yogurt that states it has probiotics in it, isn't nearly the amount that you need. It has traces of probiotics, so the companies are able to put that in the ingredients and promote that. He said, it's not the same at all as taking a supplement for it~
We use the Culturelle brand. I don’t eat yogurt and neither does my daughter. It keeps your digestion healthy which keeps the rest of your body healthy.
I have not seen the gummy brands but check to see how much sugar it contains. Not all brands are good.
We did the paediatirc culterelle for our little one when he was on antibiotics and it really helped....I used to take the adult version (the refrigerated kind) a while back but just don;t anymore.......I am sure they are helpful.
