Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to check in to see if anyone has any great recipes for the crockpot. It is so nice to start this in the morning and not worry about it until dinner time. As I am sure it is in your household, it is crazy around dinner time especially when the kids want to play outside with the other kids and I need to be out there with them and my husband is still at work, if you have any recipes to share for the crockpot or make ahead meals I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you.

"All Day Chicken in a Pot"

4 chicken breasts
salt and pepper
potatoes
carrots
onions
1 or 2 cans cream of chicken soup
Heinz 57 steak sauce

line pot with chicken and salt and pepper. cover with veggies. pour 1 can soup over everything and cover that with 57 sauce until it looks good. (i love the 57 sauce because it adds a tang that is different than most sauces.) You can add more soup if the 57 sauce is too strong.

crock pot on low about 6 hours.
--------------------------------------
"Cheesy Chicken"

4 chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cheddar cheese soup

put all in crock pot and cook on low about 6 hours. this sauce is soooo good over potatoes, rice or pasta (potatoes are our favorite).
-------------------------------------
"CHICKEN DELICIOUS"
12 chicken breasts
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1/3 cup chicken stock
Parmesan cheese

1. Mix everything in crock pot and top with cheese.
2. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 7-8 hours.
3. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with cheese.
---------------------------------
"SAUSAGE LASAGNA"
4 servings
1/2 lb. spicy bulk sausage
1 small onion, chopped
2 cans (15 oz. each) tomato sauce
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
8 oz. ricotta or cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
6 to 8 uncooked lasagna noodles

1. Cook sausage and onion in skillet over medium heat until cooked through, drain.
2. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, basil, and salt.
3. Mix 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese with the ricotta and parmesan cheeses.
4. Spoon 1/3 of the sausage mixture into slow cooker.
5. Top with 1/2 of the uncooked lasagna noodles – you will have to break them into pieces.
6. Spread with 1/2 of the cheese mixture and 1/3 of the sausage mixture.
7. Top with the rest of the lasagna noodles, the rest of the sausage mixture and the rest of the cheese.
8. Cover and cook on low 4 hours or until noodles are tender.

This is a good website for some crockpot ideas:

http://southernfood.about.com/library/crock/bltopcp.htm

There is also a message board link from the Campbell's soup website with some good recipes---sorry I don't have it handy but I don't think it should be too hard to find.

Best wishes.

I have the Fix it and Forget it cookbook and honestly have not used it. It's just easier for me to google the type of meat I want to use + slowcooker + recipe. The best and easiest recipe I have and we eat all the time is for French dips. It's 1 roast (1/2-2 pds) 2 cans of Campbells French onion soup mix, 1 can of Beef Broth. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Buy rolls, cut them open (I butter mine) put a slice of swiss cheese on each, bake just until bread is crispy (5-10 minutes) slice meat and put on rolls, serve with remaining juice as "dip". They are super easy and my kids all love these. You can make them without the cheese, oe you can put the meat over regular bread and serve with mashed potatoes and pour juice over the top for an open faced sandwich!

One of my favorites for colder weather is a pot roast. Line the bottom of the crock pot with your veggies. I like root veggies like carrots, potatoes, onion. Season the roast, place it over your veggies and add about a cup of water. If you like Cream of Mushroom Soup, add that as well. Put the lid on and cook on low for 6-8 hours. It's great!

I bought a book from Costco called "101 Things to do with a slow cooker". It is GREAT! Everything from soups to casseroles to deserts and.... BREAD! It was less than 10 dollars and had so much stuff in it! Plus, now there is a second book called "Another 101 THings to do with a slow cooker". I think you'd find a book much more helpful, and easier to sort through, than getting recipes online.

I like to put a pork roast in the crock pot in the morning, with a few garlic cloves, half an onion, and salt and pepper. 45 minutes before you eat, take the pot roast out, and shred it up. Add 1 cup of water and half a bottle of bbq sauce to the crock pot. Mix in the shredded pork and cook on low until it's time to serve. It makes GREAT bbq pork sandwiches, and the prep time is minimal. (Sometimes you have to add more water or sauce, it all depends on how big the roast is.)

I hear you girl,
The crock pot is a busy womans best friend.

Ok Chicken tacos.
I have no percise recipe but here it is anyway.

Throw in a bunch of chicken tenders or breasts, dump a can of red enchilada sauce, and let that puppy cook all day long. Shread chicken just before serving. I get big time rave reviews whenever I serve this. NOTE: you want to make sure your chicken is well covered with sauce while cooking, but not a deep soup. Those cans can have a lot of sauce so just do what looks right.
Enjoy.

Here are some of our favorites (I LOVE the crockpot!)

Easy Cheesy Chicken

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Cheesy-Chicken-I/Detail...

I use chicken tenders and try to tear/cut them apart after they have cooked so it is easier for the kids. I also highly advise to serve this over mashed potatoes. I have tried noodles and rice but potatoes seem to be the best. The mixture is pretty strong (in my opinion) if you don't serve it over something else.

Barbecued Beef

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Barbecued-Beef/Detail.aspx

The smell of this will make you hungry all day!

Pepper Pork Chops (husbands favorite!)

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_99...

I use low sodium broth and I don't add the extra salt and we like it.

Also, I will take a beef or pork roast, your veggies of choice (I use onion, carrot and potatoes) and throw them in. Use what seasoning you want (I like Montreal Steak seasoning...or just salt and pepper works too) Then I mix 1 can of beef broth with 1 can of cream of mushroom. Pour on top and let it cook all day. It is so moist!

I also make chili and stew in the crockpot. If I am in a hurry or my day is busy, I will cook the meat and onions the night before. Then I just throw it in the pot with everything else in the morning.

Hope this helps!
